After more than 45 years with our club as we know it today, it’s time for us to explore options for a future club. As the community around us has evolved, we’re planning changes to ensure that our contribution to our community does too - ensuring we can continue to put the community first.

THE NEW CAMPSIE RSL VISION

We have a vision to develop a contemporary venue that accommodates people of all ages that truly highlights our rich and culturally diverse landscape.

The vision for a new Campsie RSL is to create:

• a place for the entire community – a place where local people can gather, be entertained, have a drink with friends and an a�ordable meal with family

• a state of the art fitness centre with group fitness classes and contemporary equipment

• a venue where the money you spend is used to help others in our local community

• a location where young families can find a�ordable childcare

• a home for locals wanting to enjoy secure apartment living in close proximity to a new community precinct

• a community asset including improved car parking that uses the best of today’s sustainability and green building practices.

This is about us as a club, being able to continue to service the community and grow in a way that is respectful to our heritage, our local environment and planned for our future generations.

Today our Club has more than 11,000 members, with new faces visiting us every day. We hope that the proposed plans for our club reflect our community and our membership – building a future foundation and downtown destination for Campsie.

WHY IS THE CLUB DOING THIS? This development will secure the future of the Club for its members and will allow the Club to continue grow and continue its contribution to the Campsie community. The Club is undertaking this project to enable it to give back more to the community and create a vibrant future and destination for the Campsie community.

WHAT ARE THE PLANS FOR THIS DEVELOPMENT? The club is exploring the potential for additional uses to be developed on the site including:

• speciality shops• fitness centre• child care facility• medical centre• residential living apartments• improved parking• expanded club facilities

HOW WILL THE COMMUNITY BENEFIT?The proposed redevelopment of Campsie RSL aims to provide the Campsie community with enhanced facilities, greater access to childcare and medical assistance and improved parking.

The redevelopment would bring a great deal of economic and social benefit to the Campsie community, creatingmore jobs and injecting more money per year into the local economy.

In the spirit of our original legacy, Campsie RSL currently contributes more than $400,000 annually to support local community events and the club is eager to significantly increase this local community contribution followingits redevelopment.

WILL THE DEVELOPMENT IMPACT THE ANZAC PARK? The development would not jeopardise the amenity of ANZAC park or its historical significance.

WILL THE CLUB BE MOVING? The club will remain on the site.

HOW IS THE CLUB GOING TO AFFORD THIS? The Club knows from these investigations that the site can support an expanded range of uses and these would be economically viable on the site. The development will be staged in a prudent manner.

WHEN WILL CONSTRUCTION START?We estimate construction will not occur for 3 to 5 years. Planning approvals would be required before any works commence.
