  • KHILAFAT

    Ref: Friday Sermon 26.5.17

  • THE HOLY QUR’AN

[24:56] Allah has promised to those

among you who believe and do

good works that He will surely make

them Successors in the earth, as He

    made Successors from among those

who were before them; and that He

will surely establish for them their

religion which He has chosen for

them; and that He will surely give

    them in exchange security and

peace after their fear: They will

worship Me, and they will not

    associate anything with Me. Then

whoso is ungrateful after that, they

    will be the rebellious.

In this verse of the Holy Quran, Allah has promised Khilafat to Muslims with the conditions of faith and good actions. The Holy Prophet (sa) had foretold that Allah would re-establish the institution of Khilafat in the latter days. We see many wrong notions about Khilafat being preached today by some Muslims scholars. Some even say that there is no need for Khilafat now and that all Muslims should try to act upon Islamic teachings according to his or her understanding.

    Introduction

  • HADITH Introduction

  • What is Khilafat?

The word ‘Khalifah’ is derived from the Arabic word ‘Khalafa’ which means succession- one who comes after. The Khalifa is a successor to

a Prophet of Allah whose goal is to carry to completion, the tasks of reformation and moral training that were seeded by the Prophet. The community of followers of a Prophet of Allah,

continues to nurture its faith and practices under the blessing of the institution of Khilafat

for as long as Allah wishes.

    Work carried on by Khalifas...

Our beloved Promised Messiah (as) fulfilled his duty of bringing Allah’s Message of the true

Islam in the Modern Age. Before he returned to Allah the Almighty, the Promised Messiah (as) told his followers that his work would be continued by his Khulafa or successors. This Khilafat is called The Qudrat-e-Sani or the

    Second Manifestation.

    Why do we need Khilafat?

The beautiful picture of Islam had become dusty over time. So Allah sent Hazrat Mirza

Ghulam Ahmad (as) who claimed to be the Promised Messiah and Mahdi of the age, to clean the picture and restore the pure and.

pristine true Islam. This advent was foretold by the Holy Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad

Mustafa (saw). In 1889, under Divine guidance, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi (as) laid

down the foundation of his community, which was later given the name of Ahmadiyya

    Muslim Jama ‘at (Community).

    Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad

    Khalifatul Masih V (aba)

We are blessed at the moment, to have our beloved Huzoor – Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad

(Ayyadaullah tala Benasrihil Aziz) - Fifth successor to the Promised Messiah (as) to

guide and show us the right path. May Allah strengthen his hand and grant him a long,

prosperous life, leading the Community. May Allah continue to shower this community with

    His Blessings. Ameen

    Key Points

  • WE AS AHMADIES ARE FORTUNATE

    • We, as Ahmadies, are fortunate that we have experienced fulfilment of the glad-tiding of Khilafat on the precepts of Prophethood and we are among those mentioned in the verse of Surah Al Jumu'ah:

‘And among others from among them who have not yet joined them…' (62:4).• We accepted the person about whom the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of

Allah be on him) said that he would ‘bring faith back from the Pleiades’ (HadhratMirza Ghulam Ahmad) and we were enabled to give greeting to the Messiah for whom the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) sent greetings.

    • We also have had the grace to take Bai'at of the Khulafa of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace). All these blessings demand from every Ahmadi to bring about pure changes in him/her and this is the duty of all his followers so that they may fulfil the dues of Bai'at.

    Key Points

  • • Ahmadis should always remember that along with the promise of Khilafat, Allah has drawn our attention towards his worship. If you will uphold your worship of God, all of your fears will be replaced with peace and harmony. We have seen the history of Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya that God’s help has always been with the Jama’at and this help and progress continues to increase today with the message now reaching millions of people worldwide.

    • The enmity of Islam and Ahmadiyyat continues to grow today, but remember that the eventual victory of Islam is decreed at the hands of the Promised Messiah (as) and Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya. It doesn’t matter how much effort the enemies put in as they are decreed to fail
