Jaguar Land Rover is revealing the intelligent

and connected steering wheel of the future

during the inaugural Tech Fest at Central Saint

Martins art, design and technology college in

London, UK.

Named ‘Sayer’, this steering wheel concept

lives in the consumer’s home and becomes

their trusted companion. Sayer is a voice-

activated artificial intelligence (AI) powered

steering wheel that will be able to carry out

hundreds of tasks. In addition to being a virtual

assistant, Sayer could signal membership to an

on-demand service club, which offers either

sole ownership or the option of sharing a

vehicle with others in a consumer’s

community.

Jaguar Land Rover imagines a future of

autonomous, connected and electric cars

where a consumer doesn’t own a single car,

but instead can call upon the vehicle of their

choice where and when they need it. That’s a

future vision Jaguar Land Rover is exploring

with Sayer; a connected steering wheel that

could be the only part of the vehicle a

consumer owns.

Jaguar Land Rover envisions a future where

Sayer works as a personal mobility assistant for

consumers; reminding them when they need to

wake up for a morning meeting two hours

from home and even determining when a car

needs to autonomously arrive at their door, or

advising which parts of the journey they might

enjoy driving themselves.

A beautifully sculpted piece of art, like every

Jaguar Land Rover product, Sayer owes its

name to one of the most prominent designers

from the Jaguar brand’s history, Malcolm Sayer,

who worked for the British marque between

1951 and 1970.

Allowing the brand to explore the positive role

technology is playing in reshaping the

automotive industry and beyond, the theme of

the inaugural Jaguar Land Rover Tech Fest is

‘Technology with Heart’.

The free-to-enter festival takes place at Central

Saint Martins art, design and technology college in London. It is open to the general public from Friday, September 8 until Sunday,

September 10.

The event will be packed full of innovative exhibits and interactive displays that demonstrate how technology is being used to make

a positive difference. Attendees can fast forward to the future and glimpse a world where cars drive themselves and vehicles are

shared, not owned.

Jaguar Land Rover North

America this week

celebrated the U.S.

Armed Forces Team at a

send-off event in Long

Island, N.Y. ahead of their

departure to Toronto for

the 2017 Invictus Games,

the international sporting

event for wounded, ill and

injured service members.

Jaguar Land Rover is the

Presenting Partner of the

Invictus Games Toronto

2017 and sponsor of the

U.S. Armed Forces Team,

continuing their support

of the inaugural Games in

London in 2014 and the Orlando Games in 2016.

Over 80 athletes from the U.S. Team, led by team captains Sgt. Ivan Sears and Capt. Christy Wise, gathered for the first time in

Long Island for a series of practices and scrimmages before the upcoming Games, taking place Sept. 23-30, in Toronto, Canada.

Supported by Jaguar Land Rover, the send-off celebration was organized to recognize and honor the athletes as they depart to

compete in Toronto against teams from 13 competing nations.

“The Invictus Games is an amazing event as it brings together wounded warriors from all around the world to compete, share

stories and encourage each other. We want to thank Jaguar Land Rover for all of their support before and during the games,” said

U.S. Armed Forces Team Captain for Invictus Games Toronto 2017, USAF, Capt. Christy Wise.

“The Invictus Games gives us all the chance to challenge ourselves and build a better version of ourselves. I speak on behalf of the

entire team when I say that we are all so excited to represent the U.S. Armed Forces Team in Toronto,” said U.S. Armed Forces

Team Co-Captain for Invictus Games Toronto 2017, USMC, Sgt. Ivan Sears.

The U.S. Team is made up of veterans or active-duty service men and women from across the country who will compete in all 12

adaptive sports, including archery, indoor rowing, power lifting, road cycling, sitting volleyball, swimming, track and field,

wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, golf and the Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge.

The Invictus Games are the only international adaptive sporting event for wounded, ill and injured veterans and active-duty service

members. The Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and

respect for these men and women.

BIG CATS AND HALF-TRACK ROAR

LOUDEST AT H&H CLASSICS IN

DUXFORD & MERCEDES BARNFIND TOPS

£100,000 IN £2.3M AUCTION

A Carmen Red 1966 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Roadster with a fascinating and colourful history headed a massive offering of 20

wonderful Jaguars at the H&H Classics sale on November 15 at Duxford, Imperial War Museum.

The car was implicated in the infamous ‘one-armed bandit murder’ of 1967 which inspired the film 'Get Carter' and was referred

to in the Mark Knopfler song '5:15am' from the album Shangri-La. It sold for £155,250.

The Roadster was supplied new to fruit machine king Vince Landa via his employee Kemal Kansaran. It has had three keepers and

has just 49,000 warranted miles on the clock from new.

Vince Landa fell foul of the infamous Kray Twins when they accused him of installing slot machines in some of their clubs.

Relocating to the North East as a result, he set-up Social Club Services - a fruit machine business valued at £8m in 1966 - and

became the owner of The Piccadilly and Birdcage nightclubs in Newcastle which played host to the likes of Tom Jones and Roy

Orbison.

Embroiled in the so-called `one armed bandit murder' which saw Social Club

Services' employee Angus Sibbert shot dead on January 4th 1967, `LGT 788D' was

supposedly being driven that night by Michael Luvaglio (Landa's brother) and Dennis

Stafford who were subsequently convicted of the crime. Messers Luvaglio and

Stafford have long protested their innocence and the whole affair is referenced in

Mark Knopfler's song 5:15am as well as being cited as an inspiration for the film `Get

Carter' (which just so happens to feature Dryderdale Hall as the villain's lair).

1958 Jaguar XK150 S 3.4 ROADSTER SOLD FOR £138,000

This exquisite 150 is possibly the first S version to be constructed and is certainly understood to be only the 7th righthand drive

Roadster to leave the factory on the 4th December 1958 to Henlys of London. The first owner was a MR JHL Copper and its then

understood to have been acquired by its long term previous keeper a Mr Murdoch Laing - initially of London but later Ross-shire,

Scotland. 'VYR 764' was apparently treated to an extensive restoration of engine, bodywork and interior in the 1990s but, unhappy

about the way it was progressing, Mr Laing had the task completed by Goldsmith & Young of Warminster. At some stage in the

past the block has been replaced with a larger 3.8-litre unit, although it still retains the original triple carb head (no. VS1634-9)

which has been modified to run on unleaded fuel and has been fitted with Coopercraft brakes. The vendor acquired the Jaguar in

2011, and presently considers the bodywork, paintwork, Tan leather interior, straight-six engine and four-speed manual

transmission to all be in 'very good'

condition. This rare and highly

desirable XK is currently displaying

(an unwarranted) 48,300 miles and is

now being sold complete with

collection of old MOTs and invoices,

dialogue of the restoration and

Heritage certificate.

1937 JAGUAR SS100 RECREATION Suffolk Sportscars is dedicated to the visually exact

reproduction of the legendary Jaguar SS100. They have made

over 270 of their Jaguar reproductions for customers all over

the world, nearly as many as William Lyons himself. This is one

of very few that you will find in the US and it has been expertly

fettled and upgraded at the factory before being imported by a

Jaguar enthusiast. Suffolk continues to support their customers

worldwide so parts are always available. This car offers classic

looks and thrilling performance with recognized investment

value. FINANCING AVAILABLE

Motorcar Classics is excited to present this bespoke

recreation of Jaguars iconic 1937 SS100 Roadster. Roger

Williams, the developer of Suffolk Sports Cars of Woodbridge,

Suffolk, UK, has a long history with Jaguar Cars and his SS100

is widely recognized as an authentic replica of the SS100 and

features many parts that are interchangeable with the original cars.

The car is virtually indistinguishable from an original and benefits from being upgraded with modern Jaguar components on a

robust custom-designed chassis. Our beautiful example is featured in classic British Racing Green on its fiberglass body panels with

Tan leather trimming the cockpit. The engine-turned instrument panel and classic instruments lend a vintage feel to the cockpit.

The car is fitted with a vintage 1965 Jaguar 4.2L DOHC XK engine built by VSE (Vintage Sports Engines of Powys, Wales) mated to

a compact short throw Jaguar 4-Speed box with overdrive on

top gear. This lightweight car has the power and torque of an E

-Type with lighter weight for truly impressive performance.

Each SS100 is built to the owners specifications and this car

features a Moto-Lita wood steering wheel, Lucas QK596 head

lamps, and a single Lucas Flame Thrower driving light. Not

shown in the photos, but also included, are removable wings

for the windscreen, and a pair of Brooklands Wind

Screens. Suffolk is still actively in business with Roger's son,

Fraser, active, meaning that support and spares will be readily

available for years to come. Our car has full weather gear

including a Black Mohair Hood (top), Tonneau, Bonnet Cover

(hood), and Side Curtains. The Suffolk SS100 sells for a small

fraction of the original, but has become a desired collectible in

its own right. This car will give its new owner great pleasure

on the road and show field.

British cars in watercolor: An artist's gallery opens on the Web

FEBRUARY 16, 2016

ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA - If you like British cars, and insist on good art, watercolor artist George Ellis has lots of fine art prints to choose from. Whether your interest is in MGs, Jaguars, Austin-Healeys, or other British cars, Mr. Ellis offers a growing list of prints featuring the classics.

Mr. Ellis is not new to painting cars; he's been painting for 15 years. What's new is that he is now offering Open Edition and Limited Edition prints of his work at his Web site, www.GeorgeEllis.com. The prints are produced to the highest standards.

At the George Ellis Gallery online, visitors are greeted by a light green SS-100 Jaguar in a beach scene. Clicking the first of the links at the left of the screen, one reads "About the Art," which offers a brief synopsis of the artist, the art, the prints, and how to order prints through the site.

The prints come in a variety of sizes: most are 11x14 inches, some are larger (up to 16x20 inches), and some are available as 5x7 inch prints. They're produced with archival inks on watercolor-type paper to hold their true colors well over time. It's expensive to make prints this way, but fine art is meant to last indefinitely.

Mr. Ellis's art looks attractive on the walls of any home, garage, shop, office, and of course "mancaves." Limited Edition prints in particular represent an investment in art that can be expected to gain in value over the years.

To visit the George Ellis Gallery online, go to www.GeorgeEllis.com. The site accepts major credit cards and PayPal, and it offers "old school" customers the low-tech option of printing out a paper order form. If you have questions or would like to leave a comment, use the Contact form in the links list. The Gallery also accepts commissions; e-mail inquiries to [email protected] or call the Gallery at 631-757-3722 during business hours for details.
