That’s what we’re in this week. We celebrate Jesus’ move toward the “scaffold.” We see him progressing toward Jerusalem. We will celebrate those two significant events with a service of communion and a Tenebrae service on Thursday at 6:30 PM. From the Pastor …..

During Lenten lunches, I spoke about Hector Berlioz’s masterpiece, “Symphonie Fantastique.” The fourth movement of that Symphony is “March to the Scaffold.” It uses music to start gently while intensifying throughout. At its pinnacle, the execution is made obvious. The music builds in complexity. It builds in ferocity. It builds in suspense until something terrible happens.

I think about that song every Holy Week. That’s what we’re in this week. We celebrate Jesus’ move toward the “scaffold.” We see him progressing toward Jerusalem. He knows the fate that awaits him there, but he travels because it is what’s best for us. He takes the pain and the scorn while receiving the shame of the cross.

Easter is a wonderful day, but we diminish its beauty if we ignore the events of Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday) and Good Friday. We will celebrate those two significant events with a service of communion and a Tenebrae service on Thursday at 6:30 PM. If you can’t join us, take the time to read the gospel stories of Jesus’ last days. That way you can appreciate the sacrifice and can fully celebrate the glory of the resurrection.

MARCH PRAYER FOCUS - Week 5, Forgiveness At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light. Yes, Lord, I thank you for the remembrance. It was there by faith, I received my sight, and the burdens of my heart rolled away. The infusion of "our" sins YOU received at the cross. For the likes of us, you gave all. YOUR prayer says YOU forgive us AS WE FORGIVE others. Lord, we can't even do that without your help. So shine, Jesus, shine. Let us choose to meet you at the cross, so your fire can fall, your winds can blow, and your glory can come down. Help us see you, serve you -- give ourselves away. All in the power of your name. AMEN

Our Sav-a-Life Baby Shower will be Tuesday, April 3rd at the Senatobia Church of Christ. The mother we are sponsoring is having twin girls, which were due on March 18. Please help us outfit this new mother with the necessities. A table is in the Grand Hall for your donations. A Wish List is posted at the table.

Monetary donations will also be accepted. Make checks payable to our church and indicate “Sav-a-Life” on the memo line.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes — Bible Project The FCA groups in the Senatobia and Magnolia Heights Schools are kicking off their annual project of collecting funds to present a Bible to every student in the Tate County area schools. If you would like to contribute to this project, please make payments to our church and indicate “FCA Bible Project” on the memo line.

Our Board of Trustees is working diligently to take care of

our facilities. If you see something that needs to be

repaired, or notice something that needs their attention, there is a proper way to handle this. They ask that you get the proper form from the church office, fill it out and return it either to the church office, Sidney Kidder (chairman) or Keith Keeton. These are then presented to the Board of Trustees at their meetings for discussion. By following these procedures, they will have not have to rely on text

messages or verbal messages.

Bus to Gaither Concert

Anyone wanting the ride the bus to the Gaither Concert on Thursday, April 5th needs to be at the church ready to leave at 3:15 p.m. The group will stop to eat before going to the concert.
