What is colorful, inspirational, gives comfort, strength, and love for others? Let me tell you!! PRAYER JARS

You are going to want one of these for your family!! Do not miss out!!!

FUMC children will be making these prayer jars for you, over the next few weeks. Each prayer jar will be $5. The plan is to have them available to you, on or before Valentines Day. A sample jar is on the table in the Grand Hall, as well as the order form!

When you see the sample you will notice it is empty----but the one you purchase will have the names and pictures from our new church directory! YES---you will be in the Prayer Jar!

Each day you will take out a slip of paper and pray for that family/individual!! What a simple way to get to know all of our church families through prayer!! What a blessing it would be if we were all in prayer for one another throughout the year! I can't wait to see God's blessings poured out on FUMC through this project. Please be in prayer about joining in! If money is an issue, we would still like you to have a jar, please let us know! Our prayer is that this will touch the entire church: those who are home, or in another town, as well as those who are able to participate in worship each week.

Some have asked how many jars does my family need? That is totally up to you. Here are some of the responses I have heard so far that may help you make a decision.

I am going to put ours on our dinner table, and I would like an extra for my work desk. Children are asking for their own to put by their beds. I would like to get one for each of our grandparents. I would like to send to someone who is away from the church at this time...

Truly there are many opportunities for worship and sharing as a church family through these jars! Let us be an example to our children and lead by prayer.

This once in a lifetime project is a fundraiser for the Kids' Camp!!!! Sign up as soon as possible, because the kids will be filling orders and we need a count on how many to make!! If you are unable to sign up, please call Glenda and place an order with her.

50+ Planning Meeting On Tuesday, January 30 at 11:30 a.m. there will be a meeting to discuss activities for 2018. Come with ideas of things you would like for us to do, such as restaurants, museums, plays, ballgames, etc. Everyone will build their own Hoagie with chips, desserts and beverages, with everything furnished. 2018 Service in Ministry Sign up sheets have been placed in the Grand Hall so that you may sign up for the areas of ministry in which you would like to serve. Please stop by and register your service.

We extend our love and sympathy to Lee and Stacey Pinkston in the recent passing of his father, Mr. Thomas Lee Pinkston, Jr. Mr. Pinkston, from Batesville passed on January 7. We also extend our love and sympathy to the family of Joanne Veazey. Mrs. Veazey, a long-time member of our

congregation was laid to rest on Saturday, January 20 in Bethesda Cemetery. Our love and sympathy is also extended to Shelton and Donna Ingram, Suzanne Coke and Pam Harrison, in the passing of his mother and their grandmother, Mavis Ingram. Mrs. Ingram passed on January 3.

LAY SERVANT SCHOOL Sign up for the Lay Servant School, scheduled for February 17th at Her-nando UMC. this opportunity is sponsored by the Desoto Cluster but the faculty is from The Methodist Hospital! The classes that will be offered are: Avoid Burnout In Ministry, Living With Alzheimer's, Mental Health and the Opioid Epidemic, and Power To Forgive is Power to Heal. ANYONE is welcome to attend, you just have to register by calling the district office. Even if you are not a part of the lay servant ministry in our district, feel free to attend.......... One of the best features of the day, is that it is FREE! All we ask is for a donation that day for your lunch........

Building Security

We are still finding doors that have been left unlocked from activities over the weekend and during the week. For those of you who have keys to the building, please help us maintain safety by using your key to lock the building when activities have concluded for the day. A schedule is made for the purpose of having someone responsible for locking up after the morning activities and Wednesday night activities. Everyone who has a key to the building is on this list.

Also, if you unlock a door just to come in for a few minutes, please make sure if locks behind you when you leave. Some of our doors are a little stubborn and you have to make an effort to close them in order for them to lock. It’s an erring feeling walking into the building when the doors have not been locked at night.

Ever get tired of writing checks, forgetting to bring your check to church on Sunday? We have just the solution! You can sign up to use online giving. You have the ability to set your donations up as a one-time gift or recurring gifts. You establish to amount and the date which you want the donation to draft from your account. This manner of giving is a way to insure that the church receives your donation even if you are out of town. THANK YOU

Thank you, Church family, for all your prayers. At the beginning of 2018 I stepped in as the prayer chairperson for Senatobia FUMC. I had a list of ideas and thought I would hit the ground running. But…God had other plans for me. Instead of implementing plans for the prayer ministry I became someone in need of prayers. So many prayers have been lifted-up on my behalf and I am grateful beyond measure. When we first arrived at the hospital the one thing that was clear in my thoughts was that I needed your prayers. Robert made a few call and texts and the prayers began. God gave me peace and I trusted others to do the praying that I would not be alert enough or physically able to do. I have felt your prayers and I am so thankful for God’s mercies. I pray we grow more and more in Christ Jesus, praying in all things...all to His glory.
