The Exploration of the New World

Over 10,000 years ago Natives crossed over a natural ice bridge called Beringia into a new

world, now known as North America. Beringia was from Asia to what is now present day

Alaska. At that time, North America was inhabited by humans. The Native Americans were

looking for three main things food, a new climate, and a new lifestyle.

Animals was an important source for the Natives because they found many uses for it. The fur

and skin of the animals can be used to make warm clothes. Bones can be tied together to form a

spear, smaller sized bones can be sharpened, and be used as a knife. Most importantly the

animals are their main source of food and are very nutritious. Before the animals were used to be

eaten, the Natives followed the herds, and the herds usually went towards the warmer climate.

The better the climate meant the more animals.

If the Natives found a new climate, it makes things easier for them. Hunting, gathering, easier

trade, and getting water were an example of a new climate. Since, there is better climate, there

will be more animals which will make it easier to hunt, and gather food. Natives could be right

next to a water way and lead to trade. Being by water can also be easier to get water more often

an easier. Having new climate and food seems like a new life.

The start of a new life could be easy or it may be complicated. Migration is a start towards

something new, just leave, and not knowing where you’re going or will end up Some of the

Native Americans just wanted to start over, leave things behind, and bring their family along.

Others would’ve just left for the adventure, full fill their curiosity, and just for the fun of it. If

those weren’t their reasons they were probably forced to leave or were in it for money.

The Natives who went on the exploration to find a new world must have had a lot of wisdom,

effort, and making really hard choices. When you go on an adventure you never know what

you’ll find or what you won’t but the Natives found something really great that day. A new life,

climate, and search for food led to the rise in population on the Western Hemisphere. This

migration led to the civilized colonies and culture.
