I got stuck in an elevator once. full disclosure, i was jumping up and down in the elevator, i may havebeen the cause of the elevator getting stuck. i was just jumping up and down for no reason other thanbeing bored when all of a sudden the elevator comes to a halt. the phone was working, but it was aweekend and the person i talked to said it might take up to an hour for somebody to come out and get me.so i waited for about 10-15 minutes and then started to get antsy. i managed to open the doors some howand noticed i was in between floors. the bottom half of the elevator opening was looking at the top half ofone of the floors outer elevator doors. i managed to open those doors too. so i waited there another 10-15minutes. i got even more antsy. i had a 2-3 foot high space in which i could roll out of the elevator andonto one of the floors. my concern was, what if i fell back into the elevator shaft and plummeted to thebottom of the shaft. also, what if for some reason the elevator started going up right as i tried to go out,cutting me in half gasp. small chance of either one of these scenarios happening, but when your life is onthe line, you think about it for a while. but, i decided to go for it and made it out ok. i waited another10-15 minutes to see if somebody came, but then i just got tired of waiting, so i left. i wasn't particularlyexcited about explaining how the elevator got stuck in the first place :P.
