Bay Shore, NY • Fontana, CA • Hamilton, OH • Lachine, Quebec • Vol. 40• 1st Quarter 2018 ® 40 Years of Good Times 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of our Duro Dyne Good Times Newsletter. Prior to its first issue, the company newsletter was called Salesboy which began in the early 1960s. The name Salesboy was a clever takeoff of the infamous Playboy™ Magazine. Founder Milt Hinden created its mascot: a cartoon drawing of a beagle named, “Carpe Diem” after the well known “Bunny” that was the symbol of Playboy. I was introduced as a guest writer for the cover article for a few issues in the 1980s and 1990s. In 2000, I officially took over as the author of the cover article. I took the position as Publisher of this newsletter after my father, Milt, passed away at the end of 2000. I find it very satisfying to come up with topics that I hope will be of interest to all of our readers. Some articles are industry related, while others are Duro Dyne specific topics. Still others involve my observations about world events. I love hearing from our readers with their thoughts about my articles. So, please feel free, in the future, to let me know what you think, and if you have any ideas for topics you would like to see addressed in the future. Here’s to the next 40 years! Last year, Duro Dyne decided to stop its expensive hospitality suite at AHR Expo, and instead offer custom pink machinery for auction to benefit the BCRF ® charity. It was a very lucrative fundraiser due to the generosity of our customers. This year Duro Dyne kicked off another very successful charity fundraiser, this time benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project ® . Our success in raising awareness and funds for this important charity will be shown throughout this issue. Thank you for continuing to enjoy this newsletter and for your great support of Duro Dyne.
