Twenty-five new mentors that were recruited to DREAM went through and exciting training event preparing them to be active volunteers on campus and full members of the DREAM community. These mentors will go through a shadow program for three weeks after which, a portion of them will be assigned mentees from the Windsor community. Mentors and children traveled to Camp DREAM in Fletcher, Vermont for Winter Adventure Camp! The day included broomball and exploring on the ice of Metcalf Pond, cross-country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, snowballs and hot chocolate. One hundred and twelve (112) mentors and children participated that day from all over the state of Vermont, the most ever for a Camp DREAM event. High Adventure planning for the teens summer trip continues! Participants Mentees Mentors Total: 21 Total: 30 Females: 15 Females: 20 Males: 6 Males: 10 Weekly Programming with Children Mentors spent an afternoon on campus in one-on-one activities and playing small group games. New mentor shadows were assigned. Mentors again spent an afternoon on campus focusing on one-on-one activities and playing small group games. New mentor shadows were assigned. A High Adventure meeting took place after one of the Friday programs. Two Friday programs were cancelled due to inclement weather and vehicles being kept on campus for safety.
