Editing Pace – Beginning Conversation

• The beginning of the clip is slow as it establishes the scene it lasts from 29 seconds. These images are cuts and the conversation taken place between the family is calm and also uses the 180 line to have the conversation between the child and women. The screen grabs below show this in action as we see her talking it creates a safe environment. At the end of the screen shots the pace remains the same until the van is introduced and the pace slowly increases and the tension between the two characters in the front of the car lead to this. The conversation cuts around 9 times. The scene allows makes it seem that nothing is going to happen apart from the guy admitting the truth.

Editing Pace – Crash

The editing the pace of the crash scene is fast as it all of a sudden happens in 3 seconds the screen grabs play this out with different cuts taken place to show the crash in action. The cuts show the range of the crash but not giving a gory image as people will be able to fill the gaps.

Editing CGI - Crash The CGI part of this scene is focused on the physical crash about to happen the first sight of the CGI being used is the polls in the van as they are inserted by computer and the effect of them sliding forward and crashing through the screen is also CGI. Furthermore the rods going through the mans head and through the seat is also done using CGI with the blood produced this was done post production.

Editing Transaction

The transactions used in the scene is fade to black the only fade in the scene and this was used in the end when the crash had fully played through. The fade is a zoom out away form the crash.
