1532 The Martyrdom of Richard Byfield.

Richard Byfield was cast into prison and endured some

whipping for his adherence to the doctrines of Luther. This

Byfield had been a sometime Catholic monk at Barnes in

Surrey, but was converted by reading Tyn dale’s version of

the New Testament. The sufferings this man underwent

were great. Sometimes he was shut up in the dungeon and

almost suffocated by the horrid smell of filth and stagnant

water. At other times he was tied up by the arms until almost

all his joints were dislocated. He was whipped at the post

several times until scarcely any flesh was left on his back,

and all this was done to make him recant. He was then taken

to Lollard’s Tower in Lambeth Place where he was chained

by the neck to the wall, and once every day beaten in the most

cruel manner by the archbishop’s servants. At the last he

was condemned, degraded, and burnt in Smithfield.

strangled by the hangman, and afterwards consumed by the fire

Police took measures to prevent mass suicides, including barricading windows and stairs to the roof. As midnight approached, 1500 riot police, 200 detectives, 100 journalists, plus

emergency vehicles stood outside; plainclothes detectives were stationed inside. Ten minutes after midnight a boy shouted from a window:- "Nothing's happening!!!"

(After the prediction failed Lee was sentenced to two years jail for defrauding his followers out of 4.4 million dollars and

investing in stocks maturing AFTER Oct 28. Many of his followers committed suicide.)

we're completely saved at the end of the world MAY 21, 2011."
