Sacramental

Baptism… Parents must be registered members at one of our parishes. Preparation class is mandatory. Scheduled Baptism Dates: St. Benedict, Our Lady of Mercy and St. Joseph: 1st Sunday of the month.

First Communion & Confirmation...

These sacraments will take place according to church calendar. Please check the bulletin for notices on preparation, registration and set dates. If your child does not attend a catholic school, please notify the parish. Preparation is mandatory.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

(R.C.I.A.)… Classes are set from September to Pentecost. For more information or to register please call the parish office.

Marriage… About 1 year advance notice is appreciated. One of the applicants being married must be a member of one of our cluster parishes. Please contact the parish office to fill out a marriage registration form. Marriage Prep Course is mandatory.

Care & Anointing of the Sick...

Holy Communion is brought regularly to parishioners that are homebound, in nursing homes, and hospitals. Please notify the parish office if you know of someone that is in need of receiving holy communion. For the Anointing of the Sick please contact the parish office. Note: In order to receive sacraments when in hospital or continuous care facilities, please inform the facility’s administration of your Catholic faith.

Funeral… After your initial contact with the funeral home, please contact the parish office for mass preparation. (Pre-planning is encouraged.)

60th Anniversary Celebration

On Sat. Sept. 14, St. Benedict Church and the Catholic Women's League of St. Benedict, will celebrate their 60th anniversaries. Mass will be celebrated with Bishop Fabbro at 5pm followed by a reception in the parish hall. All are welcome!

Alpha

Everyone will at one time or another ask themselves basic questions about life such as; What is the meaning of life? What is my life meant to look like? Where do I find answers? Alpha is a great opportunity to seek out answers to the questions we have, in a welcoming and friendly environment. Alpha consists of a succession of weekly meetings. Each session will begin with dinner, followed by a speaker/video and a time for conversation about what the speaker had to say. Why not give Alpha a try? No commitment required and no fee! Children’s Liturgy

St. Benedict’Children’s Liturgy resumes Sun. Sept. 29 "Do you love working with children? We are in need of a few more volunteers to teach Children's Liturgy during Sunday 10am mass from September to June. Commitment is roughly once a month. Anyone interested please contact the parish office. Documentation of a police check will be required.

Project Updates for our Cluster Churches

Our Lady of Mercy...

STEM Camp has finished it's summer program in the parish hall. All scheduled phase 2 church restoration work has been completed by RTM and affiliate contractors at OLM. OLM's main front doors are receiving final repairs before being primed and freshly painted. St. Joseph...

The original Church bell is officially back in service, ringing every Sunday morning before 11am Mass. The landscaping project and sprinkler system are now complete. A special thanks to Eric Madej and our many dedicated volunteers for their hard work and a job well done. Short term plans include several small outside jobs such as painting hand railings, sealing new concrete steps and posting additional parking lot signage. St. Benedict...

Main parking lot repairs are now complete from the damaged asphalt due to an unknown non-church affiliated vehicle whose gas tank broke spilling a large amount of gasoline on our newly paved surface. We are waiting on the contractor to finish painting new parking stall lines. The cost to remove and replace the damaged area was almost $8000. Thankfully, our insurance covered just over half of that sum. As a result, we have added extra signage, posts and chains to prevent non-church related parking. This may seem like extreme measures, but we have over $300,000 invested in our parking facilities and we must protect them and our parish from liability. We have been advised to keep our parking lots closed when not in parish use, therefore, our parking lots will be closed after the weekday and weekend masses.
