On the 4th March, 2017, Amity Inter-

national School, Gurgaon organised

Jamboree in the school premises

which was witnessed by the parents

of students from classes III and IV.

The event was the brainchild of Prin-

cipal Ms. Arti Chopra, where the

students showcased diverse physical

activities and sporty sprits.

It highlighted the importance of

games and other physical exercises

in the early years of childhood.

There were enthralling performances

by young Amitians and the entire

school campus was transformed in to

happy fitness regime. The skating

rink, the play ground, basket ball

court, taekwondo hall all abuzz with

young sport stars.

The huge gathering of parents ap-

plauded the students for their spec-

tacular performances and sporty

grit.

Orientation Program for new parents and students was held on Saturday 18th March. With around 165 new entrants for classes II-IX this year, the programme commenced with the lighting of lamp followed by the peaceful rendition of shlokas. Students welcomed the parents with their melodious welcome song and classical Dance performances. School Principal Ms. Arti Chopra welcomed the parents and she apprised them on the infrastructure and various activities taking place in the school for the overall development of the students. Parents were also explained about the usages and benefits of Ami-tranet. The counselor Ms. Deepika Tikoo spoke about the LEC and counseling facilities available in the school. Parents also interacted with the block coordinators which were especially designed to sort their queries.

"Parents and Teachers play active roles in a child’s Educa-

tion together. We help them reach their fullest potential” Orientation Programme for Class I for the session 2017-18 was con-ducted on March 20, 2017. Principal Mrs. Arti Chopra welcomed new parents and acquainted them with the vision and the mission of the Amity School. She also shared with them the teaching methodologies and facilities provided to the children. Students of class II presented wonderful MI presentation.

One of the main highlights of the event was a presentation “Starting

school on the Right Note”- by Dr. Kanika K Ahuja a well known Psy-

chologist on Parenting and how parents can help in smooth transition of

a child from the homely environment to the school life. The academic

coordinator Ms. Sumity Kapoor introduced her team of teachers to the

new parents and also shared the assessment, homework patterns with

parents. She also made them aware about the usage of Amitranet. Ms.

shilpy the special educator explained the functioning of LEC. The par-

ents were happy to be a part of the informative Orientation programme.

New academic session started on March 17th,2017 witnessed un-

usual spirits and great cheer on the faces of Amitians who were back to school to join their new classes. This auspicious day started with morning assembly conducted by senior students. School Prin-cipal welcomed all the students and inspired them to look to new horizons and to work hard to reach the top . The first day began in a traditional way , when all the students gathered to take part in Ha-van to seek the blessings of Almighty God to bless them with suc-cess in all their accomplishments in this session.

NEW SESSION (2017-18) USHERS IN NEW DREAMS & HOPES

ASTRONOMY DAY

The students of Space Astronomy Club celebrated astronomy day on March31, 2017.The day began with setting up of the stalls with the help of resource person and material provided by SPACE organization. Different activities conducted through-out the year were showcased. This day provided a good exposure to the stu-dents to learn the basics of cooking comet, launching a hydro rocket, time, direction and making of tattoos. Principal Arti Chopra appreciated the efforts of the astronomy club and moti-vated the students to focus more on experimentation and research work. The day proved an enriching experi-ence for our upcoming scientists.

The Inter Amity Sports competition for the year 2016-17 was

a fabulous opportunity for the upcoming sports stars to

sharpen their sports acumen and to prove their potential in

various sports.

The concluding function of Inter Amity Sports and Games

was organized at AIS Noida on 7.3.2017. Respected chair-

person ma’am was the chief guest and she gave away the

prizes to the winners . Our students brought us laurels by be-

ing the joint winners of the Overall Championship.
