REVISITING OUR BAPTISM A mere seven weeks ago thousands of new Church members were baptized. Their new life in Christ has once again infused new life into the Church. Their new-found faith has inspired and bolstered the faith of those who have followed Christ for many years. As the Easter season nears its end, we revisit the scene of our baptisms. In the second reading we hear Christ calling us: “Come. . . . Let . . . the one who wants it receive the gift of life-giving water” (Revelation 22:17). But our baptism is not one of water only. John refers to washed robes, and we know that this washing is to be “in the blood of the Lamb.” To make sure we get this message, we have today’s first reading from Acts. It is the story of Stephen, the first Christian to be killed for his faith in Jesus. We remember the promise and also the cost of being a disciple of Christ. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
TODAY’S READINGS
First Reading — Because Stephen professes his faith in the Son of Man, he is stoned to death (Acts 7:55-60).
Psalm — The Lord is king, the most high over all the earth (Psalm 97).
Second Reading — I, the Alpha and the Omega, am coming soon (Revelation 22:12-14, 16-17, 20).
Gospel — Father, I pray that they may all be one, as you and I are one, that they may be brought to perfection (John 17:20-26).

RECORDAMOS NUESTRO BAUTISMO
Prayer Requests...
Praying Hands: How can you be a Minister to the Sick without ever leaving your own home? It’s easy!
Every week our bulletin has a list of people who have requested our prayers for healing, for hope, for courage and for strength. They need our prayers and they believe that our prayers are powerful. So, may I suggest that every day we pray for one person from that list. We can name that person as we bring our prayers to the heart of God and ask our loving God to lay His healing hands on them.
In that way, these people will no longer be names on a list, they will be people who are special to us and we can be prayer warriors in our own homes. Try it! Sr. Sheila

A very big thanks of appreciation to our St. Joseph Parishioners, Community
and School Parents for supporting us in our “BINGO” program. Due to circumstances beyond our control,
Bingo Innovations have closed their doors and hopefully in the near future will reopen after the
business has been restructured. We have had a few big winners
and made new friends, this is a great loss for our “BINGO” program.
We will keep you posted as to when we can start the “BINGO” program again.
