Title: ”The big box” – All aboutfreedom

Students will need to understand the purpose and the meaning of freedom. They should be able to identify major symbols from historical and contemporary cultures and they will produce the new symbols of freedom as a poem, a song or a short play to express their points of view.

A1 - Brainstorm on individual thoughts and associations.A poster of ideas. Dates: 9.03.14 – 25.03.15

Students will need to understand the purpose and the meaning of symbolism. Theyshould be able to identify major symbols for freedom from historical andcontemporary cultures (people, literature, songs, national symbols, team mascots,birds, etc.) In teams of two pairs from each country ( PL + DK, Ro + T) our studentswill brainstorm on their individual thoughts and associations with the word“Freedom”. Then, they will make a large poster of the abstract ideas

A2 - Students will make a survey among the local people about Freedom and create a graphic organizer with key topics and ideas (Bubble map) using Prezi.

Dates: 25.03.14 -13.04.15Students will create the basis for individual writing by engaging with works of

quality and substance. They become proficient in new areas through research andstudy. They refine their knowledge in Prezi.

A3 - Students read Morrison’s book “The Big Box” and then invite discussion of this book and compare it with their lives through Voicethread.

Dates: 13.04 – 24.04.15Students will consider what freedom means in this story, what role the box plays. They analyze if it is: an environment, a character or a symbol. If so, what does the box symbolize.

A4 – Students in groups will write articles about different aspects of freedom as the topic evaluation. Dates: 4.05 – 15.05.15

Students evaluate other points of view critically and constructively. They will understand that people from widely divergent cultures and who represent diverse experiences and perspectives must learn and work together; they tailor peer-to-peer cooperation.

MOBILITY MEETING IN POLAND23.05 – 29.05.2015

A5 –Students will produce e-books (Flash Page Flip) and present them during the mobility meeting. They will prepare a short play,

a song or a poem in groups and they will perform that in the„My Big Box of Freedom” evening.
