Education Week continued…… Education Week this year was celebrated ‘virtually’ … BUT with modern technology no one had to miss out! On the Department of Education website, a link (as below) was made accessible to families, that allowed them to view what was going on in the school for the week. Each day we uploaded photos and videos on Facebook and Class Dojo’s. Students loved being involved in photos and videos each day, knowing that they were being streamed to their families to see. We hope you enjoy the photos we have in this newsletter as a small recap of last week’s activities. If you missed the daily activities online you can access them through the link below: ctrl button and hover mouse over link address… https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/education-week/a-virtual-celebration?

The Pizza Canteen Meal Deal was a huge hit!

Self portraits of all the students in the school were placed together to form a Collaborative Art display - and it looks fabulous!

We are very fortunate that our school is kept immaculately clean by our fabulous cleaning staff who are employed to service our school. Deb, Karen and Beatrice are our daily cleaners and they do a tremendous job. Deb has been allocated extra daily cleaning time during the COVID situation, and is doing an amazing job with repeated cleaning of all surfaces, doors, play equipment throughout the day, to help reduce the spread of germs.

Rod is currently working as our groundsman whilst Pete is on leave. Rod is taking wonderful care of our gardens and lawns, as well as all other small maintenance jobs that require his attention.

Thank you Deb, Karen, Beatrice and Rod (Pete) for continually taking pride in your work and keeping our school sparkling!!!

Curious Creatures, Wild Minds is the theme of Book Week this year!

Students have been involved in art and craft

during their library lessons, based around titles from the Book Week

nominations list for this year. All class works will be displayed

around the library.

Ask your child what book they based their artwork on and what the book was about.

have been working on symmetry, tessellation and transformation of shapes as part of our 2-dimensional space strand in maths. We found that turning our maths into artworks helped us remember the new skills we were learning, as well as making our classroom bright and beautiful! Tessellation is where we arrange shapes in a repeated pattern with no gaps. We created our own shapes to make our tessellation patterns. Transformation is when we move shapes, either rotating, reflecting or sliding them.

We had to use at least one of each transformation when

creating the fish for our aquarium.
