Crazy Hair Day
Parkes Christian School was well represented at the annual Zone Athletics Carnival in Dubbo last Tuesday. More than 50 students attended and achieved some outstanding results on the day. More importantly though, was the fact that all students were outstanding representatives of the school.
The following students all managed to finish first, second or third in at least one event and have now qualified for the State Athletics Carnival in Sydney at the end of Week 4:
Primary: Arabella McCutcheon, Angelique Bland, Ruby Wilson, Nicole Ellis and Toutai Lavaka.
High School: Mark Allen, Mikeely Bermingham, Laura Cabban, Jasmine Collier, Monique Cox, Jake Green, Joel Hall-Matthews, Gemea Hanstock, Chloe Hill, Chelsea Johnson, Jesse Magill, Luke Magill, Anastacia Smith and Alice Worthington.
Special mention must be made of Laura Cabban who also finished as 17 years girls age champion! Well done Laura, and to all the students who competed so well on the day.

Crazy Hair Day
It’s the Craziest Hair DayPCS students got behind a great cause and supported the Noakes Sisters World’s Greatest Shave Team to donate the the Leukeamia Foundation.
Students got to let their hair down, spike their hair up or add a splash of colour on Friday.
Each class nominated the best three styles and those people recieved House points for their teams.
Students brought in their donations and purchased cakes to raise money and we are very happy to be able to donate $292 towards their incredible cause.
Thank you to our PCS community for getting involved and helping us donate!

High School News
High School Assessment TasksOur Year 10 students have been briefed for the upcoming Mock Crash Course. This was presented by Senior Constable Daniel Greef and Councils’ Road Safety and Injury Prevention Officer Belinda Coe.
Students wore goggles to simulate having had a small or large amount of alcohol or drugs. They then had to navigate a course to see how difficult it is to concentrate while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
PCS Students will be taking part in the Mock Crash program later this month where they will see a simulated accident and the agencies involved in assisting the crash victims.
Young drivers are over-represented in crash statistics in Australia and this program aims to educate them on how to drive responsibly.
