CONGRATULATIONS TO PINK
Last Friday was Clare Primary School’s Swimming Carnival, held at the Valleys Lifestyle Centre. It was a great day with students involved in many races, fun events, supporting each other and cheering on their team. I am extremely grateful for the almost perfect weather conditions we had on the day – it helped make the day the success it was. Our students all did a fantastic job representing their school, their house and themselves so positively with very positive feedbacks from Valley’s Staff. Well done to all our successful swimmers and to the Pink Team for winning the overall shield. Maynard and Knappstein drew for a close second with Ashton finishing third on the day.
Our individual winners on the day were:
Thank you to all the parents who came along on the day and helped with timing, setting up in the morning and packing up afterwards, who supported races and even joined in for the parent / staff event. Thank you to the Valley’s Staff for welcoming us on the day and helping the event run so smoothly. Thank you also to the staff for all their work organising and planning to make the day successful!

Ride to School Day Tomorrow is the Clare School’s Ride to School Day. We would love to see as many children as possible join us at the Lennon Street carpark on the Riesling Trail for a free brekky cooked by the local Lions club from 7:30 am before we ride as a group along the Riesling Trail to school, leaving at 8:15 am. Students will need a suitable bike and helmet to be able to ride for 10 – 15 minutes safely to get to school. Staff will attend the event and ride along with students. Parents are most welcome to join us for the ride. SAPSASA Swimming Carnival On Monday night 10 of our students competed at the Mid North SAPSASA Swimming Carnival at the Valleys Lifestyle Cen-tre. Congratulations to Leighla Brown, Zoe Pawelski, Tia Hutchings, Abbie Skinner, Esther Head, Billi Malycha, Will Young, Max Heinrich, Cody Harrold and Tommy Lucas for doing such a wonderful effort representing our school. Clare Primary came third overall on the evening. Will, Tommy, Cody and Leighla have all been chosen to represent the Mid North District at the State Carnival on the 23rd March 2018. We wish them all the best for this event. Will won every race he entered. Cody Harrold set new records in the 10 year old boys Freestyle, Breaststroke, and Backstroke. Tommy Lucas set a new record in the 10 year old boys Butterfly. Thanks to Rohan Higgins, Jane Haren and Greg Gibbs for organising the team and attending the carnival on the night. Canteen Manager The Canteen manager position will be advertised next week as it is at the end of a 3 year term. If anyone is interested in the position, please contact me at the school or keep an eye out in local papers for details. Excess Furniture Sale We still have a large amount of old chairs, computer chairs, desks, filing cabinets and shelves for sale for $1.00 per item– located on the lawns behind Mr Higgins’ class. If there is anything there you want, grab it! Clean Up Australia Day This Friday is School’s Clean Up Australia Day, a great opportunity for our students to help improve our local community and do something for others. This helps build our sense of belonging in our community and empathy. On Friday the J.P. classes will be cleaning up around our school, the M.P. classes will head to the skate park and the U.P. classes along the Riesling Trail behind the school. Students are encouraged to bring gloves if they have them and wear suitable closed in shoes. Hopefully we will not find very much rubbish. This is a local excursion and permissions are not required. Regards, Mark Vincent Principal

training on Thursday 22rd

All Junior grades to start
at 5pm.
Net Set Go will commence on Thursday 5th
April 2018 4:45 – 5:30pm
Please phone Anita Fogden 0408 214 683
with any queries.
Due to a high number of confirmed players the Min Man Netball
Club are unable to accept junior netballers from other clubs for
the 2018 season.
Players are required to take part in a season of Net Set GO before
commencing competitive matches.
We regret having to make such a decision but currently the club
has high numbers per team. We will conduct a review at the end of
the season.
Hi everyone, a great time was had by all at the Swimming Carnival, I bet there were a few sleepy heads that night!
If your child/ren are unable to have breakfast at home they are welcome to come to Breakfast Club which runs each morning
before lessons. Breakfast Club is situated in the room behind the hall, up the stairs and runs from 8.30am, can you please
encourage your child/ren to come to Breakfast Club as soon as they get to school thus allowing their teacher to begin lessons
on time. We serve toast, spaghetti/baked beans, fruit and cereal.
Also as A Pastoral Care Worker, I am happy to help in any way to make your
school life a little easier so please come and chat with me or leave a message at
the office and I will get back to you.
Part of my role at school is to help out in classes and chat with individual students
if they need to. Of course for any ongoing chats I can only continue to visit your
child if you have given permission upon your enrolment. (chaplain box) If you are
not sure about this ‘box’ on the enrolment form please have a chat with me for
clarification. This is a support role for your child.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THESE STUDENTS FOR WEEKS 5&6:
Daniel M, Kira B, Hayden C, Tiarna W, Ryley S, Cooper K, Tyson H, Cooper W, Lakeisha C.
