TC Membership Categories and Membership Numbers Issues

• Discussed and approved at IA May NIS meeting Total Membership limit of 50 per TC.
– This will include all categories (Members, Associate, International and Emeritus…and anything else).
Keep the 35 Member limit in place.– This gives each TC at least 15 additional membership slots for the other
categories. Create Alumni TC Member
– Appointment at the discretion of TC chair for specific special assignments; approved by Group Director
– Must have just completed normal member rotation– Non-voting member – Term: single two year term, not eligible for extension– Not eligible for TC sponsored honors or awards during alumni term

• Draft charter reviewed by several in TAC exec Concern about operations model and overlap with
Thermophysics TC
• Basil Hassan is working integration options and approach and will be brought to NIS when/if appropriate
