Prayer Walking This week I had my regular “mini spiritual-retreat” at the gardens. I arrived armed with my picnic blanket fully intending to sit, read the scriptures, reflect and pray, but I found myself unable to sele on a good spot to stop. So I kept on walking. As I walked I decided to pray. “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.” I repeated the prayer in whole. I also “prayed through” each part of the prayer. “Lord” – Acknowledging his royal posion I submied to God’s authority over me. “Jesus Christ” – I recalled the power in the name of Jesus and couldn’t help but sing a few or our songs about His name. So I connued to walk and pray. And when I got to “me a sinner” I confessed. I reviewed my last few days. Acknowledged weaknesses. Atudes. Acons. Ungodly desires. By the me I had finished walking through the prayer it was easy to find a spot on the grass, lay out my blanket and read the scriptures and reflect. Why don’t you try prayer walking? I found it very refreshing and restoring. It’s good for your health – spiritually and physically. Dean PS. Prayer Walking

This week I had my regular “mini spiritual-retreat” at the gardens. I arrived armed with my picnic blanket fully intending to sit, read the scriptures, reflect and pray, but I found myself unable to settle on a good spot to stop. So I kept on walking. As I walked I decided to pray. “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.”

I repeated the prayer in whole. I also “prayed through” each part of the prayer. “Lord” – Acknowledging his royal position I submitted to God’s authority over me. “Jesus Christ” – I recalled the power in the name of Jesus and couldn’t help but sing a few or our songs about His name. So I continued to walk and pray. And when I got to “me a sinner” I confessed. I reviewed my last few days. Acknowledged weaknesses. Attitudes. Actions. Ungodly desires.

By the time I had finished walking through the prayer it was easy to find a spot on the grass, lay out my blanket and read the scriptures and reflect.

Why don’t you try prayer walking? I found it very refreshing and restoring. It’s good for your health – spiritually and physically.

Plan to come and be a part of a great day as we celebrate Jesus and then enjoy lunch

together. Wynnum Corps is exploring opportunities for us to “party in the park” as an outreach activity and we intend on offering transport to assist anyone who needs it. This is a great chance for us to enjoy each others company and be a blessing to another corps.
