The Benthos ROV Heritage

Teledyne Benthos introduced the concept of inspection class ROVs and continues as an innovator in ROVs. The Teledyne Benthos line of Remotely Operated Vehicles incorporates some of the best features available in light work class and inspection class ROVs and addresses a broad scope of applications. The MiniRover, Stingray and SeaRover include a wide range of options and accessories. Over 500 Benthos ROVs have been sold.

The complete ROV system consists of the underwater vehicle, the topside control unit (including the power supply and display) and the hand box controller which allows the pilot full control over the vehicle and sensors. A tether of up to 450M provides power and communications for real time monitoring.

The optional Teledyne Benthos ROV Fiber Optic system provides higher bandwidth for improved vehicle control, data transmission and sensor output. It consists of four dedicated fiber optic lines in the tether and fiber optic multiplexers in both the undersea vehicle and topside control unit.

Optional Sensors And Equipment: Imaging Sonars, Ultra Short Base Line (USBL) navigation systems, sub bottom profilers, underwater lasers, altimeters, radiometers. Other sensors can be added as required by the operator.
