HAMO’s TeeBeeCee REPORT

This is my last TeeBeeCee report as the temporary Admin Manager’s position, I filled for a few

months, comes to an end on 4th September. I look forward to getting back on the green on a Thursday morning with the aim of developing skills of new and existing bowlers.

Volunteers are still required for our Membership Recruitment Committee (talk to me or any of the directors if you are prepared to get involved). Not hard to work out that without members we won’t exist.

Sue Hamilton has joined the Strategic Planning, Development & Grants Committee. To complete this committee at least one of our lady members would be welcome, if you are interested please talk to John Williamson.

BOWLS & MEMBERSHIP (TB&MC)

Position as @ 15/8/19 = Voting Membership 189, Social Membership 419: Total = 608.

Welcome to Beverley Harcourt (transferred from Belrose WBC) and our nine new social members.

FINANCIAL P&L covering the first four months of our 2019/20 financial year shows a loss of $20,207 which

is down by $51,132 compared to the same period last year (i.e. profit of $30,925 but this included the $67,161 from Gordon Bowling Club). Unfortunately, we needed to write-off two amounts in July this year pertaining to differences traced back through 2018 and necessary to reconcile Balance Sheet balances for KENO ($4,748) and Cash to Card ($1,142). This has obviously had an adverse effect on Month & YTD results.

Despite Bill McMurdy’s negotiations (thanks Bill) our general insurance premiums for 2019/20 have risen by 6.6%.

Workers Compensation Insurance premiums for 2019/20 have risen by 19.4%.

Hoping that James Sneddon has some better news for next month’s TeeBeeCee report.

YTD Profit before allowing for noncash items (depreciation) is $3,573.

Total current assets of $288,173 ($326,531: 2018): This includes cash assets totalling $243,133 ($298,767: 2018).

Gaming Machine Net Income is up by $7,904 (16%) with turnover increasing by $266,594 on the same period last year.

LAW BOOKS Crystal Mark 3rd Edition Version 3.1 of April 2019 Law Books are available from the bar @ cost $10.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT FOR LADIES CLUB.

Friends Day was a very successful day with more than 50 members and friends enjoying a game of bowls

followed by a delicious lunch.

On Thursday 22nd August our team of Yvonne Williams, Sue Hamilton (pairs), Anne Webb, Catherine

Ryan, Bridget Nelson (triples) Jan Martin, Kay Miniter, Chris Montgomery and Jenny Wallis played in the

Ku-ring-gai Top 9 at Warrawee and I am happy to report that Turramurra was the only club with 3 wins for

the day, bringing home the trophy. The last time this was won by Turramurra was in 2005 so it was nice to

win it once again.

At the recent Jean McKinnon Shield played against Manly Warringah at Harbord Turramurra was

represented by Diane Gower, Jenny Wallis and Bridget Nelson. North Shore District were the winners on

the day.

The club pairs was won by Yvonne and Catherine over a close game against Helen and Bridget. The club

triples will be under way shortly, it is great to see so many teams entering, good bowling to all.

Good bowling --Sue Hamilton President.

Dear member,

Turramurra Bowling Club are pleased to invite you to attend a special information presentation¹ -

Investment opportunities in today’s markets.

While the Australian economy has remained incredibly resilient over the past two decades, with recent

cuts to the Reserve Bank’s cash rate and the Australian share market moving through new record highs in

2019, investors looking for yield are facing challenges in the current environment ― leading some to

search outside of traditional assets to find investments which may offer reasonable returns.

When exploring these opportunities, there are many factors for investors to consider. This is where

specialist expertise and industry experience can help in your decision-making.

The presentation will cover:

- the outlook for the Australian and global economy and share market

- how to access investments outside traditional asset classes in global markets

- how to generate income in a low interest rate environment.

Meet the experts:

As part of the Evans Dixon Group, Evans and Partners advisers Ryan Cormican and Michael Clegg work in

a dedicated wealth management team managing the investment affairs of many Australian families,

individuals and not-for-profits.

Ryan Cormican

Director and Investment Adviser

Ryan has 15 years’ experience in financial markets spanning

across advisory and equities research roles. This includes

previous positions within UBS AG and Colonial First State.

Michael Clegg

Director and Investment Adviser

Michael has 18 years’ experience in investment markets

spanning across both advisory and investment research roles.

Prior to joining Evans and Partners, Michael had research roles

with Perpetual and Goldman Sachs JBWere.

My name is Brandon and I started with the Chriss Group in 2015 and spent most of my time here training to

become a store manager. After 2 years I decided to take on a whole new adventure and moved away to

Queensland.

After a couple of years I returned home to NSW and to the Chriss Group. I came back as 2IC of Bobbin

Head and soon after, achieved my goal of becoming the store manager here.

I am a diehard supporter of the Newcastle Knights in the NRL and like to go to every game I can. I have

been playing guitar and writing music since I was 12.

I have a 2 year old Labrador x Husky named Bear and most of my spare time is spent hanging out with him

and some friends

I am excited about working alongside the team here at IGA Bobbin Head to provide the freshest produce and

the best customer service around.

The Chriss Group has provided me with a fantastic opportunity to run this store and I’m looking forward to

sharing the experience with the team and the community.

Come in and say hello to the crew and me. I look forward to meeting everyone.

OK, HERE ARE A FEW CHUCKLES.

SERENITY

Just before the funeral services, the undertaker came up to the very elderly widow and asked, 'How old was your husband?' '98,' she replied, 'Two years older than me' 'So you're 96,' the undertaker commented. She responded , 'Hardly worth going home, is it? Reporter interviewing a 104-year-old woman: 'And what do you think is the best thing about being 104?' the reporter asked.. She simply replied, 'No peer pressure.' I've sure gotten old! I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement, New knees, fought prostate cancer and diabetes I'm half blind, Can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine, Take 40 different medications that Make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. Have bouts with dementia .. Have poor circulation; Hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can't remember if I'm 89 or 98. Have lost all my friends. But, thank God, I still have my driver's license. My memory's not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be. These days about half the stuff In my shopping cart says, ' For fast relief.' THE SENILITY PRAYER : Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, The good fortune to run into the ones I do, and The eyesight to tell the difference.
