PRESIDENT’S BOWLS REPORT FOR LADIES

The ladies enjoyed a lovely day on the 18th December to celebrate Christmas and finish 2018. It was great

see some of our members who have not been able to bowl for one reason or another. We had a lovely

surprise when Sandy walked in unannounced to join us for our festivities.

We look forward to bowls in 2019 with our Major Singles entry form on the board and the district Open and

Senior Pairs and Singles entries also open.

Bowls will resume on Tuesday 8th January and Thursday bowls on 10th January.

Sadly Joy Surrey passed away just prior to Christmas, some of our members would remember Joy and Lyn

who moved to Port Macquarie some time ago. Joy was active member at Turramurra prior to moving, she

was also President of Womens Bowls NSW. I sent her family a message on behalf of our members.

I look forward to seeing you all back on the green in the New Year

TBC CHRISTMAS DINNER

More than 80 members and friends enjoyed a great evening on 1st December. We were entertained by the

Burnley Brothers, many attendees danced the night away after enjoying a great meal of prawns, ham, turkey

and desserts.

Thank you to all who supported this great night. Keep an eye out for our next event.

Photos of the night will appear in this TBC.

Newspapers in Australia...

1. The Australian Financial Review is read by the people who run the country.

2. The Canberra Times is read by people who think they run the country.

3. The Australian is read by people who think they should run the country, and who are very good at crossword

puzzles.

4 The Sydney Morning Herald is read by people who think they ought to run the country but don't really understand

The Australian.

5. The Courier Mail is read by people who wouldn't mind running the country, if they didn't have to leave Queensland

to do it.

6. The Melbourne Age is read by people whose parents used to run the country.

7. The Melbourne Herald Sun is read by people who aren't too sure who's running the country, and don't really

care, as long as they can get a seat on the train.

8. The Sydney Daily Telegraph is read by people who don't care who is running the country, as long as they do

something really scandalous, preferably while intoxicated.

9. The West Australian is read by people who are in prison, who used to run the state, and would like to do so again,

as would their constituents who are currently free on bail.

10. The Hobart Mercury is (slowly) read by people who are running another country, but need the Aussie Rules

scores.

11. Crikey is read by people who aren't sure if there is a country or that anyone is running it; but if so, they oppose all

that they stand for. There are occasional exceptions if the leaders are gay, handicapped, minority, feminist, atheists,

and those who also happen to be illegal aliens from any other country or galaxy, provided of course, that they are not

conservatives.

12. The Adelaide Advertiser is read by people trapped in a line at the supermarket, waiting for the electricity to come

back on.

13. The Northern Territory Times is read by people who have recently caught a fish and need something to wrap it in.

Could be a lot of truth in this one…

To all the school kids going on "strike" for Climate Change.

You are the first generation who have required air-conditioning in every classroom.

You want TV in every room and your classes are all computerised.

You spend all day and night on electronic devices.

More than ever, you don't walk or ride bikes to school but arrive in caravans of private cars that choke suburban roads and worsen rush hour traffic.

You are the biggest consumers of manufactured goods ever and update perfectly good expensive luxury items to stay trendy.

Your entertainment comes from electric devices.

Furthermore, the people driving your protests are the same people who insist on artificially inflating the population growth through immigration, which increases the need for energy, manufacturing and transport.

The more people we have, the more forest and bushland we clear and more of the environment is destroyed.

How about this...

Tell your teachers to switch off the air-con.

Walk or ride to school.

Switch off your devices and read a book.

Make a sandwich instead of buying manufactured fast food.

No, none of this will happen because you are selfish, badly educated, virtue signalling little turds, inspired by the adults around you who crave a feeling of having a "noble cause" while they indulge themselves in Western luxury and unprecedented quality of life.”

Wake up, grow up and shut up until you are sure of the facts before protesting.

(Thank you Herbie for this)
