Brazil: new regulation on aftermarket parts ignoringUNECE. CLEPA asked acceptance of tests, audits and marksfor parts covered by UNECE approvals.

Decision mandating 61 UNECE Regulations adopted at

TCMV of 13th December 2010.

Technical specifications for new safety systems (TPMS,AEBS, LDWS) to be established at UNECE

Implementing measures adopted at TCMV: Towing devices,wheel guards, rear car registration plate, spray suppression

systems, manufacturers statutory plate, defrost/demist.

- Some industry sectors lobbying for improving recycling by fixing

targets, by mandating dismantling etc.- ACEA against: *already regulated with efficient recycling chain

*Substitution (e.g. for rare earths) can be an alternative.

CLEPA supports ACEA.
