The principle of financial functioning

As aground rule the MPE-EM unit is auto financed, except for: the staff members, general services not directly related to the

users jobs unexpected load/request.

It invoices the users to cover its labour, material and amortization expenses.

The principle of financial functioning

Typically, the customer should be charged with the Production Costs, whereas in the majority of cases, in order to be competitive with commercial firms worldwide, only the Factory Costs or the Prime Cost is billed to the user.

This results in a negative balance of the finances of the section at the end of the yearly exercise, which is covered by the CERN budget.
