Task 9 – Formal Proposal

Title of the magazine I wish to produce:TUNE, this simply relates to music so the audience can easily identify it and it is single syllable like the VIBE magazine I’m using the style of.

Explanation of choice of Genre:I chose this genre because I am interested in the Hip-Hop/R&B music so I thought I would be at an advantage if I done a genre I liked. Also most of the males my age are into this type of music so they could relate.

Target Audience:My target audience is teen males aged from 13-19. The magazine is mostly aimed towards the Afro-Caribbean ethnicity as they produce this type of music so they could relate clearly.

Initial Ideas about front page:I am to get a local artist as the main image on the cover so the readers can relate to the magazine straight away. I’m going to use moody and dark colours and props to create the Hip-Hop image.

Initial ideas about contents:I want the theme to relate to the first page so I am still going to do very moody colours, I will also use props to maintain the “Gangster” image. The image will take up most of the page and also a subscription area with a picture of possibly next month’s edition.

Initial ideas about double-page spread:I’m going to use an image, maybe in a ghetto background and create a story which describes the rise in the Hip-Hop world.

Initial ideas about photographs:To create these moody pages, I will need moody images; I will use locations that are dark and maybe showing the neighbourhood. This is because artists like to stay true to where they come from.
