What a week it has been at Windale PS and

it’s only Wednesday!

EDUCATION WEEK

Education Week is always one of my

favourite times in the year as we come

together as a school community to celebrate

the fantastic achievements of our students

and staff. We make a double celebration

here at Windale by also holding our Book

Week parade on the same day and this year’s

event definitely didn’t disappoint. I am

particularly proud of the work of our School

Promotions committee who organised for

the presentation of three special awards by

our Director, Educational Leadership Steve

Harris to a student, staff member and

community

member who

have

demonstrated

ongoing

dedication

and

excellence in

their roles

within the

school.

Congratulations to Aliqua Dargan- Kennedy,

Darrin Sparks and Peter Field on receiving

these prestigious awards. Thank you also to

Mrs Payne for her organisation of the Book

Fair which has been an overwhelming

success and raises vital funds to support our

school.

PUBLIC SPEAKING FINALS

On Monday we held our Public Speaking

Finals and our students were at their very

best, making it a very difficult decision to

determine who our Stage winners would be.

Congratulations to all of our finalists and

thank you to the community members who

came and supported our students at the

assembly on the day. Thank you to Mrs

Dugomanov for all her organisation which

allowed the event to run so smoothly. Our

winners will now progress to the next level

which will

be held

from

Monday

13th –

Friday 17th

August at

various

schools in the area. We are excited to be

hosting the Early Stage One final here at

Windale on Thursday 16th August.

THANK YOU

With two big events already this week and

Zone Athletics on today and tomorrow, I

would like to take this opportunity to again

thank everyone in our school community for

working together towards bigger and better

things for Windale PS. Our students are

becoming fearless learners and are loving the

engaging lessons our dynamic teachers are

teaching every day. Our families are

becoming more actively involved within the

school and it is exciting to see more and

more people volunteering in classrooms and

at school events. Our student enrolments

continue to rise and the wider community is

talking about the amazing learning

opportunities we are providing all our

students at Windale PS. This is only possible

in partnership with you and for this, I thank

you greatly.
