1calendar is a web and mobile time management system for colleges and universities that use

Syllabus Plus. The service is popular among students and staff because it combines information such

as timetables, homework, private events and activities from facebook in one calendar. The calendar

also communicates with mobile phone applications for iPhone and Android, which further ensure that

students are always up to date. This saves time and effort and makes communication on the university

effective and seamless.

Facebook syncPeople like to have important information combined in one

place. With facebook sync it is now possible to keep track

of all events, invitations and birthdays of your friends right

next to the personal calendar and the university timetable.

Homework sync1calendar integrates information on homework in an online

to-do that also works as a personal organiser. The homework

information may come from e-learning environments such as

Blackboard or Fronter.

Mobile syncWith 1calendar's mobile applications notifications of timetable

Internet bandwidth is nearly universally accessible. As a result, the costs of

local computing have gone down while the productivity of working online

has increased significantly.

Why turn to cloud services?QualityA hosted version is more easily maintained with

software updates. Because it is hosted in the cloud, the

latest version of 1calendar is always accessible to

students and staff.

A hosted version allows 1calendar to provide better

customer service at a lower cost because of easy

access to the installation.

AvailabilityThe 1calendar service is designed to be accessed from

the web and from mobile devices. In order to do that, it

always needs to leave the servers of the institution.

The software is hosted in an environment that is

designed for low-to-none downtime. 1calendar also

runs multiple servers to avoid fail-over. This is a setup

that most institutions cannot afford. From experience

our schedule has much higher availability than

schedules hosted by university on their own servers.

1calendar has offline access. This means that students

and staff can still access the schedule locally and will

not need to be connected to the 1calendar server.

SecurityA hosted version of 1calendar is easily maintained with

the newest security updates. Privately hosted

software will not be updated as regularly.

1calendar has an SSL-only policy on its web and mobile

access. Neither login information nor timetable

information can be intercepted by a third party, even

when accessed through an insecure network.

1calendar has very high standards on data security.

Access to our databases and servers is very restricted,

and can only be performed by trained personnel

through secure connections. Sensitive information is

encrypted.

1calendar applies a consistently high security standard

to all its servers and keeps the server operating

systems updated with the latest security patches. 

All data is hosted in Europe and is subject to the local

data protection laws.
