Concise & Precise Single NiTi File RCTConfirm Coronal PatencyPrior to using TF, achieve straight line access to the coronal 1/3 and establish an apical glide path with at least a #20 hand file.

File UsageWith the file rotating freely as you enter the canal, advance the file with a single continuous and controlled motion until the file engages dentin, and then withdraw the file. Do not force the file apically.

One and Only Step• Take the TF .08/25 until it engages dentin and

then withdraw immediately.

• Wipe the flutes, irrigate and recapitulate with a stainless steel hand file to confirm patency.

• Repeat Step 1 with the same TF file until TWL is achieved. If significant resistance is met before TWL is achieved, proceed with the TF .06/25 using the same steps.

Tips• Motor speed: 500 RPM

• Wipe the flutes of the file after each insertion.

• Irrigate and recapitulate with a stainless steel hand file before you move to the next TF file in the sequence.

Hints & Tips Apex Locator

Hints & Tips• Place lip electrode ensuring good contact, ask

patient to dampen it with the tongue.

• Dry floor of access cavity and 2-3mm into the canal.

• Place file into canal attached to second electrode.

• Passively advance the file until reading shows at apical foramen.

• Retract file 1-2mm, display should follow linearly - re insert file to length, display should follow.

• Push file through apex 1mm to achieve patency, withdraw to zero reading.

• Adjust stopper against reference point – measure externally via EndoRing or other ruler.

• Dry pulp chamber as shorting out may occur should the pulp chamber be full of conductive fluid.

• Walk the hand file down the canal wall to ensure contact is continually made.

• Make sure the correct size hand file is used so the canal wall is engaged at the apical foramen.

• A curve at the tip of the file may be needed to ensure the canal wall is touched at the apex.

• SlickGel [EDTA gel] lightly coating the file may stabilize the reading.

• Ensure metallic restorations are not shorting out reading.

• A zero reading which is obviously not at the apex may imply a canal wall perforation.

• The main Portal of Exit is not commonly found at the apex of the root.

Continuous Wave of Condensation Technique

Hints & Tips• Fit a tapered cone at the working length; the

canal should be wet with irrigant.

• Dry the canal with tapered paper points.

• Fit the largest System B Buchanan Heat Plugger to the binding point that is 5-7mm short of working length. Set the silicone stop against the reference point. Fit a Buchanan Hand Plugger at this level.

• Coat the apical third of the cone with a thin layer of sealer; Tubliseal EWT or Pulp Canal Sealer EWT are ideal.

• Insert cone to length - ‘wicking’ the canal walls with sealer as you fit.

• Down Pack – with heat on, push to just short of silicone stop reference in one movement – approx 3 seconds.

• Heat off & maintain pressure for 10 seconds. A double audible bleep will sound.

• Heat System B Plugger for one second, wait one second then twist to withdraw. The coronal & mid third of GP is removed.

• Vertically condense the apical mass.

• If you want to put a post in you’re done! Peerless Posts are ideal, customize a .04 or .06 tapered post to choice.

• Back Fill – extrude heated GP from needle.

• Gently place needle in canal at the apical mass level.

• Wait 5-10 seconds for needle to warm environment then extrude GP into the canal.

• The needle will gently be backed out of the canal by the softened GP.

• Condense with a Buchanan Hand Plugger to the level of the orifice

• Complete the restoration…
