1. Subscriber contacts Law Enforcement

2. Reports vehicle stolen, Law Enforcement ask:

“Does your vehicle have OnStar or any other device?”

a. If OnStar, call 1-888-4-OnStar

b. If other, respond accordingly

2. Reports stolen vehicle, OnStar asks:

“Have you reported the theft to Law Enforcement?”

a. If yes, OnStar gets information and contacts Law Enforcement

b. If no, OnStar uses database to contact appropriate Law Enforcement

3. OnStar immediately begins searching for vehicle and

advises whether Stolen Vehicle Slowdown is available

4. Law Enforcement verifies the vehicle will be treated as stolen

5. OnStar locates the vehicle and provides location to Law Enforcement.

6. LE advises when visual contact is made, confirms correct vehicle through OnStar flashing the hazard lights, confirms conditions are safe, and then requests Vehicle Slowdown

7. OnStar deploys Stolen Vehicle Slowdown

•Powertrain Controller slows the vehicle

•Once triggered, accelerator pedal inputs are ignored

•Vehicle will coast to idle speed•Vehicle functions like power steering and brakes remain intact but, OnStar buttons and internal flashers are disabled
