EnergyVaasa INKA is the leading energy technology center in Europe in 2030The Finnish energy technology innovation center is based on the export industry driven

by the EnergyVaasa ecosystem. The Vaasa city driven innovation center leads all key

energy industrial shareholders (industries, universities and public sector) in Finland.

• The industries will double their export value from 2010 to 2020;• The industrial networks, knowledge and competitiveness will be developed;• The industrial leaders should be able to keep their market position (ABB, Andritz,

Foster Wheeler, Metso Energy, Switch, Vacon Wärtsilä,...);• The service companies are supported for future internationalisation (Citec, Etteplan,

Wapice, Granlund, VEO...); • The networks are developed with the best energy cities in Finland with clear profiles;

the collaboration between the universities is facilitated, the investments of public sector will be used as innovation references and the new business models are developed to support the growth and internationalisation of SMEs.

KEY BUSINESS AREAS

The Wärtsilä 50DF medium-speed engine can be run either on natural gas or on light fuel oil (LFO) or on heavy fuel oil (HFO). The engine can smoothly switch between fuels during engine operation and is designed to give the same output regardless of the fuel.
