AquaticsAdult Beginner 1 This is for individuals age 16+ who have either not had formal swim lessons, are not comfortable in the water or know very little swimming technique. The class will focus on water adjustment and the basic fundamentals of breathing, kicking, floating and timing. This class is for those who might hold some fear and have trouble getting feet off the ground. (Family Pool)

Adult Beginner 2 This class is for those who are graduating out of Beginner 1 or are able to kick or swim one length of the lap pool but not yet comfortable treading for over 1 minute. These swimmers are able to front and back float but still uneasy with streamlining and underwater swimming. This class is taught primarily in the lap pool but will also cover skills in the family pool.

Adult Intermediate This is for swimmers age 16+ who are comfortable in the water and know the fundamentals of swimming (breathing, kicking, floating). Swimmers should be able to swim two lengths of the lap pool and tread water for 1 min. The class will focus on strengthening the front crawl and back crawl, with additional work on sidestroke and breaststroke. (lap pool) This class is great for those looking to do a triathlon or join masters but are need of a little extra guidance.

Prenatal/Post Partum Water Fit This class is for prenatal and postpartum moms. It will help you tone, strengthen, increase flexibility, boost your energy and aid in delivery as well as postpartum recovery. Exercise right up to delivery and return as soon as possible after. Moms with infants are welcome to bring the baby to the pool during class. No swimming skills are needed.(Warm Water Pool)

Health and FitnessBootcamp Enjoy the rigors of outdoor bootcamp. Numerous exercises and the ability to challenge yourself. Short session bootcamp is 5 weeks (June 8 to July 12 or July 13 to Aug 16). Purchase individual short sessions or 10 week session with pre and post fitness assessment.

Fitness Boxing Get the workout that strengthens tones and super-charges your aerobic workout. Boxing combines rapid agility, speed training, and plyometrics in a fun, intense workout for the whole body. Try this dynamic workout. You will break a sweat and a lot more!

Introduction to TRX Suspension Experience the excitement and results of total body suspension training. In this beginner program you will learn the basic movements, form, technique and sequences. This class is 30 minutes in length. Teens 12-17 may enroll with a parent.

Reformer Advanced The Pilates Reformer is the most versatile and fun piece of equipment in the Pilates equipment repertoire. These group training sessions are for everyone, from the beginning non-exerciser to the advanced athlete and all those in between. Sorry! Adults only! Reformer 2 is an intermediate reformer class and needs instructor permission to sign up. Advanced reformer is for advanced students and is invitation only. Please call 847-410-5213. Discount offered for more than 1 day per week for reformer classes. 1 day - $20 per class 2 days -$18 per class 3 days -$15 per class

Walking & Talking Summer Club Get out and enjoy a weekly walk in a local forest preserve with friends. Majority of walks will occur at Deer Grove Park with other walks scheduled for Cuba Marsh, Lakewood Forest Preserve, Morraine Hills State Park, Grassy Lake Forest Preserve and Downtown Palatine. Each walk will begin and end with a stretching session. YMCA Certified Group Exercise Instructor will lead the walk and stretch. Open to all ages and fitness levels. Strollers welcome.

Equipment provided: spri balls, resistance tubes and various weight dumbbells. Check your insurance for the SilverSneaker’s benefit. It may pay your membership fee. TeenTeen Night Ages 10-15 Bring your friends to Buehler YMCA and join the FUN! During Teen Night we have open swimming from 7:30-9:30PM, music, open gym for basketball and other sports, and activities in the Family Adventure Center. You can enjoy the gymnastics gym for a 20 minute time period. The gymnastics gym is open at Teen Night from 7:30-9:30PM. Parents must come in at the end of the night to sign child out before leaving.
