    One of the founders of Infosys Technologies Limited

    Narayan Murthy began his career with Patni ComputerSystems inPune. In 1981, Narayana Murthy founded Infosys with six othersoftware professionals. In 1987, Infosys opened its firstinternational office in U.S.A.

    Narayana Murthy is the Non-Executive Chairman and ChiefMentor of Infosys Technologies Limited. He is a living legend andan epitome of the fact that honesty, transparency, and moralintegrity are not at variance with business acumen. He set newstandards in corporate governance and morality when he steppeddown as the Executive Chairman of Infosys at the age of 60.

    Born: June 14, 1967

    Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group

    The group is India's third largest business house. Majorcompanies of Aditya Birla Group in India are Grasim, Hindalco,UltraTech Cement, Aditya Birla Nuvo and Idea Cellular.

    Aditya Birla Group's joint ventures include Birla Sun Life(Financial Services) and Birla NGK (Insulators).

    After graduating from Punjab University in 1970s, he set up a smallbicycle business in Ludhiana in partnership with his friend. By 1979,Sunil Mittal realized that his ambitions could not be fulfilled inLudhiana, so he moved out to Mumbai from Ludhiana.
