“without these tools, the

technician cannot perform brake

service on these vehicles!”

• Service and replace brake pads and components used in the new Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) systems over a range of Volkswagen/Audi Group (VAG) vehicles. Complies with the factory requirements.

• With the EPB Service Tool, the calipers are retracted electrically, allowing the brake pads to be removed for service. This also provides assistance in fitting new park brake motors, brake calipers, and disks, as well as replacing wheel hubs because the calipers are safely retracted out of the way, releasing the braking components.

• After servicing, the calipers are re-set electrically to the original position without any changes to the current calibration being affected.

• After servicing the brakes and replacing the pads, the measured depth of the pads needs to be entered into the vehicle using this tool. This is a VW/Audi requirement.

• Compatible with latest CAN vehicles and updateable.

This tool allows technicians to en-able, disable, and clear fault codes on Sensortronic Brake Control (SBC) systems on E and SL Class Mercedes vehicles from the 2003 model year onwards.

P/N: 30369400

• The Mercedes SBC system incorporates various systems which have previously been separate, such as the ABS, ASR, BAS, ESP and ETS.

• The SBC system can be “woken up” by opening a door, operating the central locking system, pressing the brake pedal, turning on the ignition, or operating the park brake. When this occurs, the system runs pre-checks which include a pressurization of the braking system.

• If the brakes are either being worked on or are dismantled when these prechecks occur, it can lead to personal injury or damage to parts of the caliper and pad assembly.

• The SBC tool allows the technician to disable the system during service and repair work, allowing a safer working environment.

• With the SBC Tool, the Sensortronic System can be deactivated, allowing the brake pads to be removed safely for service. This also provides assistance in fitting new brake calipers and disks, as well as replacing wheel hubs, because the system is safely disabled.

• When work is complete, the technician uses the SBC tool to reactivate the Sensortronic System. Then, the technician can complete a “clear codes” operation (after reactivation) in case any codes have been stored during service.

Specifications

• Gas analysis is a simple test that can be used to

quickly identify opportunities to improve fuel effi-

ciency of gasoline engines and perform pre-emissions

inspection tests. Often, problems show up at the

tailpipe long before symptoms or trouble codes from

the computer. As more states move to OBDII emis-

sions testing, shops will want to offer pre-emissions

testing as a service.

• A 60-second sample from the tailpipe can point the

technician in the right direction, saving time and

ensuring an accurate diagnosis.

• The procedure can be incorporated as part of normal

preventative maintenance inspections. From dirty oil

to exhaust leaks to mixture problems — nothing is

faster or more accurate!

• Hand-held unit for fast, easy testing. The compact size

permits easy storage in any tool box. All of the power

of a large benchtop model, without the expense

or maintenance.

• Designed for passenger cars, light trucks, motorcycles,

forklifts, and all vehicles using gasoline engines.

• Optional accessories allow user to see live RPM data

during test performance.

Engine Diagnostic ToolsDiagnose faulty injectors on Common Rail diesel engines

Truck or bus running rough? You know it’s an injector problem... But, which one?

• Save diagnostic and repair time by using this kit to identify which

injector(s) may be faulty. Reduce the cost of repairing light, medium,

and heavy-duty trucks and buses.

• Works on Common Rail Injector Systems by measuring the over-

flow (“spill” or return) of diesel from the injectors, indicating where

insufficient or excess fluid is present.

• This kit covers the majority of commonly-used injectors using

adapters for Bosch, Siemens (VDO), Denso, and Delphi. The additional

“reduction pipes” push into the end of the long hoses to reduce the

pipe diameter to fit injectors with small diameter outlet pipes. Each kit

comes with an application manual, allowing the technician to quickly

hook the correct adaptors up to the vehicle.

• The kit is extremely easy to use and works quickly. The technician

simply raises the hood, secures the measuring unit in place, and con-

nects the rubber hoses to the appropriate adapter and to the injectors.

The kit easily collects the unused diesel returning from the injector

(low pressure) and displays the volume in a graduated measuring unit.

After the engine is started, the return fuel flow “spill” will be seen im-

mediately. Ideally, each of the units should contain a similar amount of

fluid, indicating a balanced return. If a significant difference is present,

injectors may be faulty and it may be necessary to repair or replace the

faulty injector(s).

Proper use of the kit allows volumetric differences to be observed. Different levels of “spill” show problems with injectors returning too much fuel, for example.

• The CAN Test Box (CTB) connects to a vehicle’s OBDII connector. It instantly checks power and ground circuit and

identifies communication link protocols. It can be used either stand-alone or used with a scan tool

and/or oscilloscope.

• When a scan tool cannot communicate with the vehicle, or a CAN-Bus system related fault code is registered, this

tool tells the technician where to look.

• For advanced diagnostics, it connects between a scan tool and the vehicle, and can also connect to an oscilloscope

for signal capture and collection of signal waveform data.

• Ideal for diagnosing issues on European and Asian cars.

• The tool is a breakout box that provides connection points to all lines in the J1962 OBDII connector, which allows

connection to individual lines on an OBDII connector easily and securely.

• When the OBDII connector is connected to the car DLC, the LEDs of pins number 4, 5 and 16 should illuminate

instantly, indicating the grounds and the power input. The LEDs of the terminal pins blink where the Bus

signals are detected. Identify the communication system of the car and diagnose the Bus signals with your

oscilloscope simply by inserting the banana jacks into the terminals with the blinking LEDs.

Motorcycle DiagnosticsDiagnose and repair EFI-equipped motorcycles

Motorcycle brands covered**:

Aprilia, Bimota, BMW, Cagiva, Derbi,

Ducati, Gas Gas, Gilera, Harley-David-

son, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, KVN, La-

verda, Malaguti, Mondial, Moto Guzzi,

Moto Morini, MV Agusta, Piaggio,

Sherco, Suzuki, Triumph, Voxan, Yamaha

• Like cars, motorcycles are becoming more sophisticated, with electronic sys-

tems managing various functions. Both technology and government emissions

regulations are driving the requirement for electronic systems on motorcycles.

Motorcycle shops and technicians must be prepared with the right tools to

repair and maintain motorcycles.

• The Motorcycle Scan Tool is an easy-to-use tool. It allows technicians to elec-

tronically diagnose faults on motorcycles from virtually all motorcycle manu-

facturers. This unique product has a comprehensive database of motorcycle

models and systems (including cable type and connector position). In addition,

the Motorcycle Scan Tool allows the technician to read and clear fault codes,

check the instrument panel, get live data from the systems, and reset the

service light on many brands. The Motorcycle Scan Tool walks the technician

step-by-step through the diagnostic process.

• The Motorcycle Scan Tool is updated electronically via “smart card” technology.

Software updates containing extensive new covered functions are available

annually.

• Technicians use the data from the motorcycle ECU to read (and erase) stored

faults, and display “live” data (RPM, battery voltage, throttle angle, etc.).

Where manufacturers have systems on their motorcycles that allow those

adjustments, the Motorcycle Scan Tool helps the user perform other functions,

such as unlocking the immobilizer, making injection adjustments (CO trimmer),

adjusting the throttle valve position sensor (TPS), configuring the immobilizer/

alarm, resetting auto-adaptive parameters and making idling adjustments.

Note: not all functions are available on all motorcycles. Check the vehicle list-

ing for details.

• Three kits are available: Harley-Davidson Kit, Standard Kit (covers most manu-

facturers,) and Master Kit (includes OEM cables for Japanese manufacturers.)
