This year the Chair and Secretary will be stepping down and new officials will be elected. These positions are open to all and are a great way to get involved with the school. PTA meetings are usually held once a term and everyone is invited to attend. If you can't make it, please don't worry, we will be in touch following the meeting with all the details and dates for events coming up this year.

Role of PTA Chair The Chair provides leadership and governance for the PTA committee, sets the agenda for meetings and manages meetings in line with the Agenda. This role has significant interaction with the school head, the Treasurer and PTA Secretary.

Role of PTA Secretary Secretary is a key Committee Member as they are responsible for ensuring effective communication links between Committee Members and between the PTA and the School. St Jude’s Punctuality News

Year 5 ‘s House of Commons experience

Year 5 went to the House of Commons on Tuesday 24th September. They were given a tour of the

house and attended a workshop on democracy and debate, linked to their topic ‘Groovy Greeks’. Our

children’s behaviour was exemplary and Miss McLeish and Miss Francis were very proud of them.

Thank you to the parents who supported us on this excellent trip.

We would like to introduce all parents and carers to the external agencies St Jude’s frequently works with. Agnes

and Jessie regularly visit our school to support our SENDCO, teachers and children. They assist us to provide high

quality education, without barriers, for all.

Agnes Elliot

Educational Psychologist

My name is Agnes Elliott and I am an Educational Psychologist with Lambeth Educational

Psychology Service. I work in a few different primary schools, secondary schools and Early

Years settings across Lambeth. At St Jude’s, I work with Ms. Scott (SENDCO), teachers and

parents to support children who are experiencing difficulties with learning, social

development or emotional well-being.

Jessie Forester

Speech & Language Therapist

Hi, my name is Jessie Forester and I am the schools Speech and Language Therapist. I have

been working in Lambeth and Southwark for 4 Years. In school I will be working with

students who have Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). I will also be

working with teachers and parents to develop their skills in supporting these children.

St Jude's Online Safety Newsflash

BBC ‘Own It’ - a digital well-being app

The BBC have launched a new app for children called Own It. The app monitors how young people interact

with others online and uses artificial intelligence to evaluate the mood of the child so it can offer advice. For

example, if the child types 'you're really stupid' the app will alert the sender and ask if they really want to

send. It does a lot more and is definitely worth a look. For more information click here:
