Key Note – Matthew Syed

Matthew Syed is a British journalist, broadcaster and author of Bounce, a book described as “a must-read for anyone interested in the science of success, and the mindset and culture that support it”. He has won numerous prizes for his writing including Feature Writer of the Year at the SJA Awards and Sports Journalist of the Year at the British Press Awards. He is also a three time Commonwealth table tennis champion and a two-time Olympian.

Rhona Martin MBE

Rhona is Head Women’s Curling Coach at the sportscotland institute of sport, most recently helping Eve Muirhead’s team to capture Gold at the 2011 European Championships. As an athlete, Rhona brings a wealth of experience, competing at World level and most famously capturing Gold at the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Ollie Dudfield

Currently Sport Advisor to the Commonwealth Secretariat, Ollie has worked extensively across sport, previously as International Development Manager at UK Sport a role that included the development of the International community Coach Education Systems (ICES) initiative. He has worked on sport development initiatives in Australia, Scotland and New Zealand with both community based and government agencies. Formerly he was a professional basketball coach and coach educator in Australia and New Zealand.

Brian Minikin

Brian is currently a lecturer in Sport & Fitness Management at the University of Kent. Previously he was the Regional Development Manager at the Oceania National Olympic Committee and Co-ordinator of the Australia South Pacific 2000 Sports Program at the Australian Sports Commission, providing support to Pacific Islands Countries in Sport Development leading up to the Sydney Olympic Games.
