Presenter Biographies Dr. Sidhartha Hazari, DVM, PhD, PHMDr. Hazari is a microbiologist specializing in public health and cancer research as they relate to drug development and therapeutics. He has authored and served as principal investigator in multiple government-sponsored research programs. Current-ly he serves as a Senior Microbiologist in the Public Health Laboratory at the Depart-ment of Public Health in Fairfield, CA. Dr. Hazari received his doctor of veterinary medicine degree at the Veterinary School in India. He has also earned a master’s degree and a PhD—studying Hepatitis C and respiratory viruses--and completed post-doctoral work at Tulane University School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Hazari has earned a public health microbiology certifica-tion and has worked as a project scientist at the UC Davis working on drug develop-ment and therapeutics.

Tara MaddalaTara is currently an independent statistical consultant specializing in clinical develop-ment strategy for pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies.Prior to consulting, Tara was the Vice President of Biometrics at GRAIL--a company that focuses on the early detection of cancer--where she led a team of statisticians, data scientists, data managers, and biosample managers. Earlier in her career, Tara led the biostatistics team at Genomic HealthTara was also Director of Biostatistics at Clinimetrics, a contract organization which helps pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies bring products to market.Tara holds an BS in industrial and systems engineering from the University of Florida, an MS in health systems engineering from Georgia Tech, and a PhD in biostatistics from The University of Texas.

Andreas OttAndreas Ott studied theoretical physics (masters) at the University of Stuttgart in Germany, with minors in chaos theory and analog/digital signal processing. In 1994, he co-founded a consulting company producing the first internet connectivity software kit for the German Research Network DFN.Since 1997, Mr. Ott has worked in various positions as a networkengineer in Silicon Valley, first for the original consumer broadband cable modem network @Home; then for startups NetVMG, MetroFi and PacketDesign. Now at INAP (Internap Corporation), Mr. Ott designs and operates global datacenter networks, providing access to cloud computing, online services, and payment card processing. He specializes in Internet protocols and network security.

Presenter Biographies Alejandro (Alex) TerrazasDr. Terrazas is an expert in the brain basis of spatial navigation. He is known for experiments in which he trained rats to drive a small car during brain recording experiments. The results of the experiments have had an impact on our knowledge of navigation in virtual reality environments. Currently, Dr. Terrazas is Distinguished Scientist at the McKnight Brain Institute where he is investigating a novel gene related to Alzheimer's Disease using CRIPSR Cas-9 knockout rats.

Carissa ThreewittCarissa works as a Public Health Microbiologist for the Solano County Public Health Lab. (Public health microbiologists test for communicable diseases such as tubercu-losis and rabies which pose a risk to public safety.) Inspired by Doc Rosé's Pesti-lence and Civilization class in high school, she found public health in the midst of her educational journey resulting in B.S. in microbiology from SF State and a certification as a public health microbiologist.

And TurkenDr. Turken is a research scientist at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Martinez where he studies how magnetic resonance imaging technology can be used to helppeople who have experienced brain trauma. He received a PhD in cognitive psychology from UCSB and conducted his postdoctoral research at Stanford study-ing the effects of stroke, traumatic brain injury and PTSD on brain anatomy and cognitive ability. Additionally, Dr. Turken started and directed a new brain imaging research laboratory and has presented his findings in scientific publications, talks and international conferences.

Dieter VookDieter grew up in Albuquerque NM, loving science and the outdoors. He obtained a B.S in engineering physics from the University of Colorado in Boulder and a Ph.D. in applied physics, studying semiconductor device technology, from Stanford University. His first project out of school was working on high frequency (25 GHz) transistor design. Later, he was part of a joint venture between HP and Intel working on the transistors used in one of the Pentium processors. More recently, Dieter has worked on radio frequency systems and signal processing--in one case, he helped develope a system to locate RF emitters (Cell phones, radios etc.) indoors using time synchro-nization over the LAN. Presently he is working on systems to test 5G cellphones.

Presenter Biographies Randy AndrewsJ. Randolph Andrews received his B.S M.E. and B.S. E.E. in 1981, and B.S.M.E. in 1983 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Randy has worked for Hewlett Packard’s corporate research laboratory, Galil Motion Control, Douloi Automation, and Modusystems, Inc. He founded Doulo Automation, Inc in 1991 and co-founded Modusystems in 2014 to provide real-time motion control hardware and software solutions for use with Microsoft Windows.His interests include motion control, software/electrical/mechanical system design tradeoffs, high abstraction programming, real-time programming, visual programming techniques and tools, and coaching high school robotics.

Donald Apy Donald is an IT Project Manager who leads global software teams in implementing new technologies in support of corporate functions such as finance, HR, and opera-tions. Donald's projects have been primarily focused on data warehousing and business analytics. In the past, he has worked for Sun Microsystems and Cisco; currently he is employed by Visa. Donald majored in computer science at Brown University, with a second major in urban studies.

Jennifer ApyJennifer Apy holds both computer science and cognitive science undergraduate degrees, and a Stanford MBA. Upon graduation, she joined Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in their IT consulting division. Ms. Apy then moved into marketing, but now, 20 years into her career, she has successfully developed a niche as a marketing consultant who leads revenue generating initiatives for high tech startups. Her background in computer programming has deepened her digital marketing expertise, allowing her to work directly with developers and visionary founders to deliver efficient and effective marketing campaigns.

Jennifer CarlsonJennifer is a User Experience Research Manager at Cisco Systems. She has over 20 years of experience in user experience research and human-computer interaction. Jennifer has brought many product managers, business managers, engineering managers, designers, and developers to UX studies, both as a corporate user experience researcher and as an external consultant, throughout the United States, Asia, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Germany.

Presenter Biographies Liz DuncanLiz is the VP of Technology at Oregon Community Credit Union where she manages systems and technologies to secure and protect almost $2 Billion in assets. Prior to that she spent 25 years in Bay Area High Tech, including senior roles at Fortune 500 companies such as Symantec, Veritas, SBC, and ADP. She also lived and worked in London for five years, helping to round out her experience as a technology leader in a globally connected economy.Liz graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in international relations and a minor in finance. She has published white papers with the Corporate Executive Board think tank organization on security metrics. She is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a Project Management Professional (PMP), an ISO Lead Auditor for Software Development and Information Security and a Net Promoter Certified Professional.

Jason GilesJason Giles has worked at Apple for the past 19 years as a wireless engineering manager of the Core Bluetooth team and a veteran software engineer. Jason has had the privilege of making significant contributions to the wireless story of every Macintosh, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Apple/Beats Headphone Accessory ever made. He is a lead member on the Apple Air Pods team and has been awarded over 10 patents in a variety of disciplines.Prior to working at Apple, Jason worked at Applied Biosciences on complex laborato-ry systems in the biotechnology sector. In his distant past, Jason has also been a co-owner of two independent companies, Chaotic, Inc., a producer of several award-winning software programs, and also MusicHawk, an internet social network for music lovers. Jason graduated from UC Davis in biological sciences with a minor in philosophy and plant pathology.

John HurleyJohn Hurley is a mathematician and data scientist. Currently he works at a small Utah-based FinTech startup using machine learning to analyze financial risk. His main programming languages in this role are R, Python, Mathematica and Scala, and he also uses C, C++, and Ruby as needed. Previously, he was at Apple for 18 years doing low-level security infrastructure code for iOS and OSX. He has a Ph.D. in Mathematics from SUNY at Stony Brook, and a Certificate in Quantitative Finance. He has finished a specialization in machine learning with the University of Washing-ton, and he is halfway through the 10-course data science specialization given by

Presenter Biographies Johns Hopkins University. John has a son who is a successful motion graphics artist and his daughter, Jinju, is a senior at TKA. His other interests include learning languages, photography, horse-back riding, and snowboarding.

Sanjeev KumarSanjeev Kumar is currently an advisor to Venture Investment firm. Before that he was Vice President, and Head of Insurance at Saama Technologies in Campbell, CA, where he was responsible for delivering data science, data analytics, business analytics, and mobile solutions to the industry. Mr. Kumar was also the co-founder, COO and board member of InfoSTEP, a position he held at the time of their acquisi-tion. He has served in senior management BI/BA roles at Silicon Valley mainstay companies Sun Microsystems, SGI, Applied Materials, and CMC Ltd.CA.

Meghna Lav Meghna Lav is a software engineer at Apple working on wireless technologies with some of the smartest people in the world. She studied engineering in India and then traveled to Pittsburgh, PA for an advanced degree in computer science at Carnegie Mellon University.Aside from her day job, she works as a Mentor in the Apple Women in Science and Engineering Program. Meghna also enjoys board games, hiking, and dancing.

Peter MonacoPeter Monaco is a software engineer with 25 years of experience in both startups and large companies around Silicon Valley, including Microsoft, Yahoo, and Face-book. Peter has held leadership roles managing as many as 100 people, but also still enjoys writing code and seeks out positions where he can stay technical. Peter currently works at Facebook, where he has held two different roles. Initially he worked in Facebook's Connectivity Lab, helping to develop technologies to extend the internet to the billions of people who don't have access yet. Most recently, he joined Facebook's Core Systems team, where he is working hard to simplify and rationalize the many complex systems that Facebook engineers use every day. Peter graduated from Los Altos High School, earning his bachelor’s degree at Dartmouth College, and his master’s degree at Cambridge University, England.

Conner and Tyler SchoenduveConner and Tyler Schoenduve are TKA alumni (class of 2015) studying computer

Presenter Biographies science with an emphasis in security at Santa Clara University. Tyler spent this past summer as a security engineering intern at Facebook, where he built systems to track and fight various adversaries. Tyler’s previous internship experience includes developing a mobile application threat intelligence product at Proofpoint, and a general security intern working on web application and network security at Branch Metrics. Conner has done multiple internships in application security, hacking software and defending against malicious actors at Silicon Valley startups like Branch Metrics and Illumio. He was an intern at Splunk last summer as a product security intern building tools to find security vulnerabilities and conducting penetration tests on different software services.

Chris SholsChris is a business development advisor for high-tech companies in the Valley and has interests in bio/chemical/mechanical/electrical systems, devices and (silicon) chips. He is involved with sales/development of products, partnerships and people.He is the father of two TKA Alumni, Erika (TKA 2015), a junior at University of Denver, CO; and Rebeka (TKA 2017), a freshman at Baylor University, TX. He also enjoys promoting STEM careers and being a mentor for present and former TKA students.Chris has a BA in chemistry from Duke and an MS in chemical engineering from Ohio State University.

Sheng Song Sheng joined Google in 2015 as a software engineer and has worked on Payments, Maps, Ads, and Shopping. Since 2013, he has managed the engineering team for AdMob. (AdMob has helped many popular Apps to earn revenue through ads. Sheng interacts with product managers, UX designers, and mobile app developers regularly to improve product offerings.Sheng studied computer science at Fudan University in China and earned a master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He enjoys programming, reading, and hiking. He is actively involved in Boy Scouts of America.

Sunil VaranasiSunil earned a degree in biochemistry with a research background in genetics. He later switched to designing hardware and programming which led him to start his own company, Meter, which builds high speed, reliable and secure Wi-Fi routers for small and medium sized business. Sunil has experience with various programming

Sam AldrinSam Aldrin works as Staff Software Engineer @Google Cloud. He is involved in the architecting and operating of Google DC networks in order to meet the ever growing demands of network capacity and bandwidth. He is also co-chair of Network Virtual-ization Overlays Working Group at IETF. Prior to Google, Sam worked as Principal Engineer at Huawei Technologies and Technical Leader at Cisco Systems, develop-ing various networking technologies. Author of more than 25 internet standards in the area of Routing Protocols within IETF, Sam is a frequent speaker at various network-ing conferences and forums related to SDN, NFV and other networking technologies.

Milan ChutakeMilan is a Senior Director of Engineering at Yahoo. She is a seasoned engineering leader with 18+ years of experience in big data, cloud infrastructure, distributed computing, content delivery, machine learning and Al. Milan has a master’s in com-puter science from CSU and a BS in engineering leadership/business administration from UC Berkley. Milan was born and raised in India. She loves hiking, yoga, medita-tion, dancing, and cooking.

Samyukta GadeSamyukta Gade is a hardware engineer at Verily Life Sciences (formerly Google Life Sciences). She has been part of the hardware systems test team at Verily for the past four years where she has designed tests to assess reliability of hardware and analyzed failures for novel medical devices. In 2012, she graduated from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in materials engineering. She continued her education at Cal Poly focusing on semiconductor processing while working on her master’s thesis researching ways to create efficient solar cells.

Rachael GeigerRachael Geiger is a research and development engineer at Merit Medical with expertise in medical devices related to spinal oncology. She graduated from The King’s Academy in 2014 and went on to receive her B.S. in biomedical engineering from San Jose State. She is currently working on her master’s and will be graduating with her M.S in biomedical engineering from San Jose State in December. Rachael

Presenter Biographies enjoys the balance of the mechanical aspects of her job such as CAD and machin-ing, with the clinical aspects of the surgical procedure and understanding patient need. In her free time, Rachael enjoys traveling with her husband, going to the gym, and playing with Bella, their dorky yellow lab. This August, Rachael will be attending law school at Santa Clara University for patent law concentrating in medical devices.

Mitalee GujarMitalee Gujar is a mother of two girls and an engineering leader at Amazon where she leads teams that build cloud services for transit and travel experiences on Alexa-capable devices like Echo, Anker Roav and Fire TV. Prior to her foray into the consumer space, she spent 15 years in the enterprise storage and networking industry at NetApp, Oracle and Cisco. Mitalee holds a master’s degree in computer science from Stanford University and a bachelor’s of computer engineering from University of Pune, India. She is associated with TechWomen, an initiative by US Department of State that empowers emerging women leaders from Middle East and North Africa through technical mentorship.

Joan HuserJoan Huser is Vice President of Americas Sales at TDK InvenSense, a world-leading provider of MEMS (micro electrical mechanical systems) sensor platforms found in Mobile, Wearable, Smart Home, Industrial, and Automotive products. Joan began her career designing digital signal processor chips, evaluation boards, and applica-tion software at AT&T Bell Labs, before moving to Tokyo, Japan for two years and beginning her transition to the “dark side” in semiconductor marketing, business development, and worldwide sales roles.Joan holds Bachelor of Science degrees in computer science and electricalengineer-ing from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Science in electrical engineering from Stanford University. She is the proud mom of four TKA / TKA graduate boys, only one of whom she has convinced to follow in her footsteps and pursue an education in engineering, even though it is so fascinating and will open doors into all sorts of careers.

Frank KmakFrank Kmak is currently the Chief of the Wind Tunnel Division at NASA Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California. He oversees the research, operations and engineering staff that support transonic and supersonic wind tunnels at the Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel (UPWT). In addition, he is responsible for research and

Presenter Biographies operations of small scale facilities at the Fluid Mechanics Laboratory (FML) at Ames. This involves managing the government and contractor staff who perform engineer-ing design, preparation, conduct, scheduling, test management, maintenance, and facilities projects of diverse tests and projects in unique national facilities. Frank graduated from UC Davis with a BS in mechanical engineering.

Kevin LeongKevin is currently Director of Product Marketing at Rockset, a cloud data manage-ment start-up, where he utilizes both technical and communication skills to tell compelling stories about software products. He is a tech industry jack-of-all-trades, having held marketing, sales, product management, and engineering positions at SAP, VMware, Google and several other start-ups. He studied electrical engineering at Stanford and subsequently attended business school at the University of Chicago. Kevin also assists in finance, welcoming, and children's ministries at Redeemer Bible Fellowship in Mountain View.

Gregory NivenGreg Niven was born in Edmonton, Canada, and grew up mostly in Calgary, where his father worked in the Canadian oil industry.Greg had a passion for lasers from a young age, so he pursued an Engineering Physics degree in university, specializing in lasers and optics. After graduating in 1990, he moved to Vancouver to work for companies that were using lasers to image printing plates, photographic film, and printed circuit boards. During his time in Vancouver, he met and married his wife, Michelle, and they had their first child.Really wanting to work for the laser company itself, Greg moved to Silicon Valley and worked for Coherent, the world’s largest commercial laser company, where he helped develop a variety of laser products and technologies. After six years there (and three more children), he really wanted to develop high power visible lasers for projection display, so he left to join a smaller laser company, Novalux, that was going after that market. After the failure of that company in 2009, Greg and two others formed their own laser company that was successful in starting up the “Laser Cinema” market and subsequently got purchased by a large Japanese company in 2014.Just over a year ago, Greg left the Japanese company and has started working with his father in the oil industry, which was an interesting career change. Not wanting to leave the laser business completely behind, he is also still busy consulting part time for SLD Laser, which is another start-up company innovating with new laser lighting products (such as for automotive headlights).

Presenter Biographies Dawn SmithsonDawn Smithson, P.E., is the District Manager for the Bear Gulch Water District which serves water to Atherton, Woodside, Portola Valley, and portions of Menlo Park and San Mateo County. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Science from Olivet Nazarene University. After graduation, she spent a year living in the jungles of Belize at an Environmental Education and Research Center, which she co-directed with her husband. While living in Belize she saw first-hand the health effects which can result from exposure to unsafe drinking water. She was inspired to pursue a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering returning to the United States, with the specific purpose of working in the water industry. Since then she has worked as an engineer at various water companies in the Bay Area including Alameda County Water District, Santa Clara Water District, the City of Santa Cruz and California Water Service. She has also volunteered on water engineering trips to Nigeria, Costa Rica and Belize, and she has visited Honduras twice during Hurricane Mitch relief efforts. In her free time, Dawn loves watching birds with her husband, looking for “hot” cars with her son (10), and playing with the reptiles and amphibians that her daughter (13) catches.

Robert BainPlease see bio on table. Amy FischerAmy Fischer is the founder and principal designer of Spectrum Interior Design, a luxury residential design firm located in Mountain View. The firm designs interiors for new homes, large-scale remodels, home furnishings projects, and also decorates homes and yachts for the holidays.Amy knew in third grade her calling was interior design. In junior high, she took a woodshop class to learn how to build furniture and high school art classes to learn about the composition of color. Late in high school, she got a job at the local paint store to learn the techniques of mixing color. Every month Amy would call design firms and ask them if they had opportunities for her to help and learn. Her perseverance paid off, and at only 19 years old, Amy landed the position that would spark her interior design career! While attending college, Amy worked for a home builder for nearly 15 years to master the trade before starting her own company, Spectrum Interior Design, seven years ago. After 22 years in the industry, Amy still has the same passion and enthusiasm for design that she did in third grade!

Presenter Biographies Amanda GilesMs. Giles is the owner of an interior design company called DesignFix. She helps busy people make quick, affordable changes so that they feel happier in their homes. With a degree in interior design and over twenty years of experience in retail, com-mercial design, and residential design, Amanda consults on all phases of finishing homes. Selecting paint, tile, lighting, furnishings, artwork, and any other aspect of home decoration is her specialty.

Tailong KeTailong Ke is a Building and Information Architect with Rafael Vinoly Architects. He is a passionate painter and designer with Twenty-three years of experience in Architec-tural Design, Construction Administration, BIM management, IT/MIS service, software development and various types of project management. Ke studied archi-tecture at the University of Arizona – Eller college of Management earning a Maters of Architecture, RA, AIA and NCARB Certified. He has a love for combining technolo-gy with creativity, balancing the art and science, and is passionate about design. He is a father of two TKA students. David (10th grade) and Jenny (12th grade).

Karin Sturgis HigginsOn a typical day Karin Higgins roams the University of California, Davis campus making images for Web and print publications, social media sites, and the UC Davis brand. It’s not uncommon to find her climbing a tree, balancing on one foot or lying on the ground to get the perfect shot … people are always telling her to “be careful” or “have you taken that ladder-safety course?”She joined the Strategic Communications staff at UC Davis in 2006 shortly after completing graduate studies in mass communications and journalism at San Jose State University. Her work experience includes the high-tech industry, professional sports, newspapers, marketing, and advertising. Her images have been published all over the world including: National Geographic, Time Magazine, The New York Times, The Sacramento Bee, The San Jose Mercury News, The Fresno Bee, and many more.Karin earned a bachelor’s degree in art studio from UC Santa Barbara. She currently lives in Vacaville, California with her husband and three young children who hate having their picture taken.

Galley MolinaGalley Molina is Co-Founder and CEO of RGM-New Breed. For more than 25 years,

Presenter Biographies Galley has been involved in every facet of the entertainment industry. Early in his career, he toured with chart-topping artists, signed his first recording contract, and released his first single. Later, he began writing and producing music for several prestigious acts in the music industry, working on dozens of gold and platinum records.The biggest change in his life came after meeting a real-life “church girl” and devel-oping an abiding faith. This new faith completely changed his path in both life and business. Galley felt an unmistakable call on his life to become a pastor. He redirect-ed the focus of his career, forming Reverence Gospel Media (RGM) to create faith-and-family focused, life–impacting projects. Shortly after founding RGM, Galley met Grammy Award-winning musician and worship leader Israel Houghton, founder of New Breed Music. Galley and Houghton soon merged their two companies to form a new powerhouse multimedia firm, RGM-New Breed, where the two collaborate on the joint company’s projects, includ-ing film, television, and publishing music.The pair has won two Grammy Awards (Houghton’s fifth and sixth) and co-writ-ten/produced the firm’s first theatrical release. Galley believes that everything he does – as pastor or producer - is part of his personal ministry and must reflect his commitment of his faith. Shelly OstmanShelly, an efficiency expert, co-founded DesignFix, where she applies practical understanding of systems and spaces to creative, robust designs for the home. Shelly graduated from Purdue University in 1987 with a degree in electrical engineer-ing and a background in high volume manufacturing and project management, Shelly applying her understanding of systems and space to create efficient work flow spaces (yes, even at home) and organizational systems to keep homes operating at peak performance.

William SeneshenI love teaching people about computer animation and the different entertainment and research fields that are exploding everywhere. If you choose to pursue this field, you can expect an amazingly fun, interesting, and rewarding job. I got involved with CG (computer graphics) as a programmer and math nerd. I helped to build an animation and modeling tool called MAYA and another package named HOUDINI, two of the most widely used 3D animation and visual effects packages.Twenty-three years ago, I joined DreamWorks Animation and contributed to the

Presenter Biographies visual effects in The Prince Of Egypt, Antz, The Road To El Dorado, the first three Shrek films, a few spin-off Shrek projects, Madagascar 2, Megamind and How To Train Your Dragon... and even a little bit of Kung Fu Panda.I left DreamWorks in 2009 and moved to Cairo, Egypt for a few years to do volunteer work with children and high school students teaching art and math. After returning to North America (Toronto), I helped to start the studio that made The Nut Job and Spark. Now I run two cloud-based studios, Gentle Hero Stories and Gentle Hero Works, that help to make animation for nonprofits. I also teach "ANIMATION PHYSICS" to Animation and Illustration students at San Jose State University.

Theresa BenkertDr. Benkert graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a BS in biological scienc-es and started her career in the biotechnology industry researching formations for recombinant proteins for therapeutic use in humans. Wanting to dive deeper into the science of pharmaceuticals, she returned to school and earned a doctorate in phar-macy form UCSF. Dr. Benkert practiced at Stanford and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital before returning to biotechnology where she has held a variety of positions in Medical Affairs with a focus on malignant hematology.

Danielle DeSouzaDr. Danielle DeSouza is an instructor at Stanford University in the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences. Her research focuses on neuroimaging methods to understand brain structure and function in individuals with chronic pain disorders such as migraine, fibromyalgia, and chronic facial pain.In addition to research, Dr. DeSouza is highly involved in teaching and is a director for the Neuroscience, Behavior, and Cognition Scholarly Concentration for Stanford medical students.She completed her graduate training in neuroscience and psychology at the Universi-ty of Toronto in Canada, during which time she taught neuroanatomy for the majority of undergraduate, graduate, and medical students in the Faculty of Medicine.

Brian DuBoisBrian has worked for medical device companies ranging in size from three employ-ees to several thousand employees over the last twenty-seven years. He has been involved in the introduction of over three dozen medical devices and holds over 30 US and international patents for products in a variety of specialties including cardiac bypass surgery, spine and back pain, general surgery, gynecology, endoscopy,

Presenter Biographies urology and ear, nose, and throat. He is currently the Vice President of Research & Development for NeoTract in Pleasanton. Brian earned his undergraduate degree in Manufacturing Engineering (Electrical and Mechanical focus) from Miami University. He also earned a graduate certificate in Biodesign from Stanford University.

Sena FeltSena Felt received her BA in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a BA in occupational therapy from the University of Puget Sound. Sena has been practicing occupational therapy since 2001 at Development Is CHILD’S PLAY! Since 2008. She is certified in the administration and interpretation of the Sensory Integra-tion and Praxis Test (SIPT) and is trained in several forms of therapeutic listening.Sena is originally from Wisconsin and most of her immediate family still lives there. Prior to moving to California nine years ago, Sena’s family had the pleasure of spending 12 years moving around the US and overseas with the military. Their most distant travels took the family to Cairo, Egypt where she practiced pediatric OT and learned about Egyptian culture.Sena enjoys traveling, hiking, going to the beach, girl’s nights out, running, boot camp, horseback riding, and playing volleyball. Soujanya GadeSoujanya Gade M.S. - Child and Family Development Ph.D. Student - Clinical Psychology Soujanya is currently working on her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Palo Alto University. In her clinical practice as a student therapist at the Gronowski Clinic, she delivers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treat-ments to clients with a wide range of emotional, behavior and adjustment problems. In her research work at Stanford University, she is examining the neuromolecular unpinnings of developmental disorders. Soujanya earned her master's degree in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University and has a B.S. in Psychology from University of Washington, Seattle. Her master’s thesis study focused on cognitive development and adaptive outcomes in children with autism. Soujanya has experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disor-ders, chronic pain conditions and mental health diagnoses in both research and clinical settings.

Clement KimClement Kim received his undergraduate degree in cellular biology at the University of California, Berkeley. He attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine and

Presenter Biographies completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics. Dr. Kim has been practic-ing primary care medicine for 20 years and is currently with The Permanente Medical Group. He also works with UCSF medical students as voluntary faculty. Clement is married and has two children who attend The King's Academy.

Nancy KimNancy Kim currently works at Abbott Laboratories in Santa Clara, CA as an occupa-tional health nurse. She graduated from Northern IL University with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nursing and attained her Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.She worked at various hospital facilities (both in IL and CA) as a Staff Registered Nurse and then transitioned to occupational health nursing for several Medical-tech companies (Abbott Labs, Becton Dickinson, and General Electric) taking care of site employee's health and safety. Currently, Nancy is a site liaison for Abbott’s W-STEM programs and is very active with Women in Leadership in Abbott (WLA).

Andrew KomashkoAndrew Komashko, D.D.S. graduated from the University of Pacific School of Dentistry in 1999. He has been a solo practitioner in the Bay Area for the past twenty years maintaining his private practice in San Francisco. He performs general and cosmetic dentistry. During his free time, Dr. Komashko enjoys hiking and backpack-ing with his two children and wife. Jessica RossDr. Jess Ross, PhD is a laboratory neuroscientist at the Stanford University School of Medicine. As a postdoctoral scholar in the lab of Gregory Scherrer, she studies the molecular mechanisms underlying male and female differences in pain using tech-niques in molecular biology, behavior, electrophysiology, and histology.Jess is a first-generation college student originally from Illinois. She earned her bachelor's degree in English literature from Trinity College (Hartford, Connecticut) in 2010, and her doctoral degree in Neuroscience from the University of Cincinnati in 2017. Christie TatsuyamaChristie earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hawaii Pacific University where she was also awarded the Presidential Scholarship. As a prerequisite to her career, Christie worked for four years in the cardiac, surgical, and medical intensive

care units at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Additionally, Christie graduated with a Master of Nurse Anesthesia from the Mayo Clinic College of Medi-cine. Today, Christie works as a nurse anesthetist (CRNA) at Kaiser Santa Clara.
