Novice Senior 15 & under 18 yrs • Open Senior 15 & under 18 yrs Master

Novice Class ‐ shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. Open Class ‐ shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class ‐ for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.

No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to another, as well as, move from Master to Open or Open to Novice if a win has been disallowed or the Junior miscalculated number of placements, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Depart‐ment (919) 233‐9767.

There will be Puppy, Bred By Exhibitor, and Open Classes for each of the Miscellaneous Breeds in each sex.

Winners from these classes will compete for Best of Breed & Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed in each breed. Each Miscellaneous Best of Breed winner shall be eligible to compete for Best in Miscellaneous Class. All entries for Best in Miscellaneous Class shall be made a er judging of the individual Miscellaneous breed classes. In the event that the owner of a dog designated Best of Breed shall not exhibit the dog in the Best of Miscellaneous Class Compe on, no other dog of the same breed shall be allowed to compete. There shall be no further compe on for dogs entered in the Miscellaneous Class. Ribbons shall conform to Chapter 5, Sec on 2 of AKC Rules.

USE OF RAMPS A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Lagotto Romagnolo, Spaniels (American Wa‐ter), Spaniels (Clumber), Spaniels (English Springer), Spaniels (Field), Spaniels (Welsh Springer), Cirneco dell'Et‐na, Standard Schnauzer, American Staffordshire Terrier, Irish Terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Finnish Spitz, Keeshonden, Entlebucher Mountain Dog, Finnish Lapphund, Icelandic Sheepdog, Norwegian Buhund, Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Spanish Water Dog, Norrbottenspets (Misc). At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, the following breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Spaniels (Boykin) and Whippets. At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a table: Mudi (Misc). The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Sussex Span‐iels, Basset Hounds, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar‐Pei, and Chow Chows. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4–6 Month Begin‐ner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner‐Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions. Ramps can be used in emergency situations to judge any breed. In emergency situations where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund. For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds.

EXHIBITORS WANTING TO SETUP IN THE FREE GROOMING SPACES IN THE GATEWAY

(GROOMING) HALL SHOULD ENTER THROUGH THE ENTRANCE AT THE NORTH SIDE OF THE GATEWAY HALL.

2. VENDORS WILL HAVE ACCESS THROUGH THE LOADING DOCK ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE MAIN SHOW BUILDING AT 12:00 NOON TO SET UP THEIR BOOTHS.

There will be a guard on duty in the Purina Event Center on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Satur‐day, & Sunday nights. Dogs may be le in crates overnight, but each crate must have the name and telephone number of the responsible party for the dog affixed to each crate in case of an emergency overnight. The event center will not be open to exhibitors/owners a er 10 PM on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. The Event Center will reopen to exhibitors/owners at 6 AM on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday mornings. Dogs and equipment must be removed from the Purina Event Center immediately following Best in Show on Monday, June 3, 2019. RV PARKING GUIDELINES There are seventy‐four RV parking spaces located behind the Purina Event Center, with 30 and 50 amp service, sewer and water. Addi onal spaces are available in the overflow Parking on the gravel lot above the outdoor show site and rings, these spaces have electrical 30 and 50‐amp service. There are no Handicap RV Parking Spaces. For a list of all the rules and fees for both RV lots and to make reserva on for them, please see RV Rules on Page 52. All RVs parked in the RV Parking Spaces must have proof of the reserva on issued by the Cluster. THERE WILL BE NO RV PARKING ON ANY BLACKTOP PARKING LOTS. PARKING Exhibitor and visitor parking will be located on blacktop parking lots in front of the Purina Event Center. Vehicles are limited to one parking space. No ex‐pens or crates allowed on blacktop, but are allowed on grass areas. No cones allowed in parking areas. No parking in roadways or next to building. The show giving clubs will be in charge of all parking for the days of their event(s). CRATING & GROOMING Grooming and cra ng in designated areas only. EXHIBITORS AND VENDORS WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE PURINA EVENT CENTER ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 29, 2019, PRIOR TO THE TIMES LISTED ABOVE. NO CRATES MAY BE PLACED DIRECTLY ON THE FLOORING SURFACE IN THE MAIN SHOW BUILD‐ING. THERE MUST BE PLASTIC OR A RUG UNDER THE CRATE. ALL GROOMING TABLES MUST HAVE RUBBER OR PLASTIC CAPS ON THE END OF THE LEGS OF THE TABLE. In an a empt to provide grooming space for all exhibitors in a fair manner, we are offering three types of Grooming Space. 1. Reserved Grooming. 2. Un‐Reserved (free) Grooming Space. 3. Day of Event (free) Grooming Space. Grooming Spaces in the Gateway Building (grooming building) and in the Show Building of the Purina Event Center will be 5’ X 10.’ Reserved Grooming Spaces: The fee for the each Reserved Grooming Spaces will be $25 total for the en re weekend cluster. Reserva ons may be made for grooming spaces u lizing the Reserved Grooming Space Applica on on page 54. Reserva ons will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Unreserved Grooming Spaces (free spaces): Limited free grooming space will be available on a first come, first served basis beginning at 3 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. This area of free grooming space, within the Gateway Hall (Grooming Building) of the Purina Event Center, will be clearly marked. Exhibitors are required to stack crates and limit the number of grooming tables to maximize space. The Cluster Grooming Space Coordinator, and the applicable Show Com‐mi ee, reserves the right to consolidate exhibitors’ u liza on of space within the free grooming area to accommodate as many exhibitors as possible. While most of Unreserved Spaces will have access to electrical service, there is no guarantee that it will be available to all spaces. Day of Event Free Cra ng/Grooming Space: An area of free grooming space designated as Day of Event within the Gateway Hall (Grooming Building) will be clearly marked. This space will be open to exhibitors at the opening of the Event Center at 6 AM each day of the Cluster on Thurs‐day through Monday morning. All equipment, crates, and dogs must be removed from this space at the end of Best in Show judging each day of the Cluster. The Cluster Grooming Coordinator, and the applicable Show Commi ee, reserves the right to remove any equipment le in the area at the end of each day’s event. Exhibitors are required to stack crates and limit the number of grooming tables within this area. The Cluster Grooming Coordinator, and the applicable Show Commi ee, reserves the right to limit the u liza on of space within the Day of Event Area and to convert any unu lized or vacated Reserved Grooming Space to Day of Event cra ng or grooming to maximize u liza on of space for exhibitors. No cones are allowed inside the Purina Event Center. No ex‐pens allowed inside the Purina Event Center at any me. Please stack your crates and limit number of tables. All vehicles must leave their headlights on while unloading. All exhibitors must abide by the 15‐minute unloading/loading parking time limit designated around the Purina Event Center. NO VEHICLES MAY BE PARKED NEXT TO THE BUILDING OR IN ANY ROADWAY. VIOLATORS WILL BE TOWED AT OWNER’S EXPENSE. Bathing of dogs inside the Event Center is limited to bathing areas located next to the Grooming area in the Grooming Building. No dogs are allowed in the exhibitors’ bathing/rest room areas. There are two bathing/grooming tubs, available 24 hours a day, located in the Services Center Building adjacent to the RV parking area. EXHIBITORS & GUESTS No one is permitted anywhere that is marked “Employees Only” and/or “No Admittance.” These are separate divisions of Purina and are not part of the show grounds. No person or dogs are allowed on the second floor of the Purina Event Center. “If your child is in a stroller, keep a respectful distance from dogs, particularly dogs whose heads are at the same level as your child. Be very careful when near dogs so that you don’t run over tails or feet or bump into them. Be sure your child does not reach out to touch a dog without owner’s permission. No cones allowed inside build‐ing. No firearms allowed on Purina Property. No outside food or beverage is allowed in the Purina Event Center or other venues. Violators will be reported to the AKC. No Smoking (including electronic cigarettes) in the Building. No helium balloons allowed in either Hall. No glitter or confetti allowed in the facility. No Duct Tape to be used in the facility. Only painter’s tape or gaffer’s tape may be used. SERVICES CENTER There are men’s and women’s shower facili es available to exhibitors 24 hours a day during the show weekend. Two bathing/grooming tubs for dogs are also available 24 hours a day in the Services Center. This building is located adjacent to the RV parking area south of the Purina Event Center. BOOTH SPACE Booth Space is 10 X 10 feet @ $150 for the weekend (Thursday‐Sunday) 10x20 feet $300 for the weekend. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTER‐NATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS.

A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). A $3.50 AKC Recording Fee will be required for the first entry in Rally and $3.00 for each additional entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 5). A $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in 4‐6 Month Beginner Puppy. These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.

RETURNED CHECKS / INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry. The Superintendent will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash‐only basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.

No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturb‐ances, fire, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.

No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made.

Refunds made for cancellation of entries before the closing date will be subject to a $3.00 administrative/processing fee per entry.

No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor the Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up the class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.

Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.

The show giving club, the Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children. PUBLICATION RIGHTS By entering this show, all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree that all rights to televise, videotape, photograph, advertise, promote and publicize or otherwise exploit this show, or the persons or animals participating in it or the results of the competition before, during or after the event, shall belong solely to The American Kennel Club and their respective assigns, including the use of the names, likenesses or biographical matter of all dogs, owners, handlers, breeders and kennels participating in the show and no such owner, handler, breeder or kennel shall allow any other party to make commercial use of any videotape or photograph of any per‐son or animal participating in this competition.

Requirements The Gateway Hound Club Sweepstakes is open to all Hound Breeds between the ages of 6 months and under 18 months on the day of the show. Dogs shown in Sweepstakes must also be entered in one of the Regular classes under the same event number on the regular entry form. Indicate Sweepstakes Class with the age division in the space provided for "Additional Classes". Champions of Record are eligible to compete.

Dogs in Each Hound Breed will be judged in separate Sweepstakes Classes. The Sweepstakes classes will be judged prior to the regular breed classes for each eligible Hound Breed. There will be a Best in Sweepstakes in each Breed. Best in Sweepstakes in Each Breed will Compete for Best in Group Sweepstakes.

Sweepstakes Requirements and Classifications

The Sweepstakes classes are open to West Highland White Terriers who will be 6 months of age and under 18 months of age on the date of this show, except champions. No champions shall be eligible. Agents, their assistants, their families and anyone who receives remuneration for han‐ dling dogs may handle only dogs they own, co‐own, or bred in Sweepstakes. Dogs entered in Sweepstakes must also be entered in one of the regular classes at the regular entry fee and on the regular entry form. Indicate the Sweepstakes Class with the age division in the space provid‐ ed for “Additional Class”. Sweepstakes will be judged immediately before the regular classes.

Veteran Sweepstakes is open to all West Highland White Terriers that are 7 years and older on the day of the show. Dogs shown in Veteran Sweepstakes need not be entered in one of the regular classes or at a regular entry fee. Dogs & Bitches can enter in the Sweepstakes only, can be neutered. Indicate your Veteran Sweepstakes Class with the age division in the space provid‐ed. Professional Handlers may handle dogs they own or co‐own.

The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches: Veteran 7 years of age and under 10 years • Veteran 10 years of age and older.

TY GATE. IF NO ONE IS AT THE GATE WHEN YOU ARRIVE, THEN PUSH THE BUTTON AT THE GATE FOR HELP OR CALL 636‐221‐1428 FOR ASSISTANCE. TAGS MUST BE PLACED IN a visible loca on of the parked RV at all mes while on the premises.

• RV reserva ons list will be checked to confirm spot assignments at the Purina Farms Main Gate Entrance for access.

• Additional parking tags may be issued by Security, if not visibly displayed. • Campers must fit within the size limits of each designated spot. Campers should not block

roadways or they will be asked to move. • In case of a medical emergency in the RV lot in the evening or after hours, guests needing

medical attention should leave the lights on their RVs allowing the response team to easily identify the appropriate vehicle.

• Any camper without appropriate documentation will be asked to leave and cars without appro‐priate documentation will be asked to move to a parking lot

• Closest place to dump is Robertsville State Park. • RVs parked in another person’s space will be towed at the owner’s expense. • You may not leave dogs una ended in any RV or trailer overnight. • All towed vehicles must be detached and a 20 foot driving lane maintained. • You may park two standard‐sized non‐commercial addi onal vehicles in each reserved space in

addi on to your RV. Addi onal parked vehicles must display a parking tag in the windshield. • You may not move into your space prior to noon on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 and must re‐

move your RV from your space by Monday, June 3, 2019 two hours a er the comple on of judging (unless you receive wri en permission from the RV Chair).

• Quiet hours are from 11 pm un l 6 am. Please be considerate of your neighbors during these hours, and note that no RVs will be allowed to move into spaces during these mes. Anyone arriving during these hours may temporarily park in the parking lot at the outdoor agility field or the lower Main Show Field Parking Lot un l 6 AM when they can move to their spot in the RV lot.

• No motorized vehicles except in the case when a medical condi on or disability requires the use of one

• A camper must be checked on regularly if dogs are le una ended inside and there must be a reliable means to monitor the temperature in the vehicle.

• Free WiFi is provided under our "guest network" and no password is required. The expecta on is that each camper will abide by acceptable use guidelines.

• Open fires, including fire pits, are not allowed on the property • Shavings may not be used on any grass around the property

AGREEMENT I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varie es for show purposes, please designate the par c‐ular variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, par ‐color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard).

2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed compe on: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners’ records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed compe on is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.

3. (Event Class) Consult the classifica on in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addi on to designa ng the class, specify the par cular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division.

4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the me entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed a er the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registra on cer fi‐cate indica ng that the dog is recorded in his name. State on entry form whether transfer applica on has been mailed to the AKC. (For complete rules, refer to Chapter 11, Sec on 3.)
