Year 4

97.6% attendance last week.

Well Done!

We continue in school to enjoy sharing learning in our classrooms through the Class Do Jo App in our classes lower down the school.

This is a polite reminder to all parents and carers that teachers do not use the messaging service attached to Class Do Jo and request that parents don’t use this either. If you have any worries or concerns about your child please use the school office to pass the message on or arrange a meeting with your child’s class teacher for a longer discussion.

We are currently reviewing our website blogs/Class Dojo/Twitter as communication platforms to parents and carers as previously mentioned in our newsletters, in favour of a school Face Book Page and we are look forward to sharing this with you once the plans are finalised and up and running.

Drinking water during the school

day.

We always aim to actively encourage the children

to drink water in school throughout the day. To

help prevent the risk of infection and germs being

passed on please ensure your child has a named

water bottle in school, which they can use

throughout the day.

Your Child’s Water Bottle Your bottle needs to have a 'sports lid' rather than screw top to prevent spillages. Take your bottle home daily, wash it and refill

it. This prevents germs and bacteria causing

sickness. Make sure you have your bottle is clearly labelled with your name.

Any un-named bottles left in school will be disposed of for hygiene reasons.

We are embarking on a project to make eco bricks in order for each class to create planters. We hope we can annually grow and take care of plants in Science once the planters are made.

This project is being funded by the PTA.

WE NEED YOUR HELP ON COLLECTING THE FOLLOWING:

2 Litre plastic milk cartons (washed out and dry please with hot wa-ter) and single use plastic wrappings (these need to be clean too – no food waste left on them.)

Thank you

Dear Parents,

As I am writing this message, the government have announced that the country has moved in to the delay phase of our strategy against Coronavirus. I am still receiving daily updates from the DFE and Public Health England. Lancashire Education Authority have now set up a task force to support schools during this time.

As a school, we are working closely with all staff and governors and we continue to follow this advice and continue to promote high standards of hygiene amongst all staff and children. Whilst schools have been told to remain open, staff are also now planning for the possibility of future school closures and are putting together topic work, links to web activities and online links to work to ensure that your child’s education will continue, albeit in a new way, should we be instructed to close at any point in the future.

I am also developing a school Facebook page, as we feel that this will be another way of communicating with you in the future.

I have also asked our website provider to provide a direct link to the NHS 111 advice line on our home page -Thank you to our school governor, Mr. Dugdale, for this very useful recommendation and advice.

For now, school is open as usual but we are taking extra precautions. The safety of our pupils, staff and school community remains our biggest priority.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments.

Best wishes, Claire Armstrong
