‘Inspiring lifelong learning’
RSL Lone Pine Seat
Our hardworking and generous RSL members spent last weekend installing an iron bark seat around the Lone Pine near our front gate. Students will be able to use the seat in the shade provided by the tree. We are very fortunate to have such a great working relationship with our RSL.
Ride2School Day
This year National Ride2School Day coincides with our VIP Day, so we are taking advantage and will have a ‘decorate your bike/helmet’ competition, with the judging taking place at recess and the winner announced at assembly. The Ride2School website has a wealth of resources, tips and ideas for families to access. It’s vital that children are made aware of the safety habits when riding bikes anywhere on the roads, even when they may well be ‘quiet’ roads and streets. The unexpected is exactly what it is. Unexpected! But good safety habits can prepare children for how to respond and react in an ‘unexpected event when riding. Find them at: https://www.bicyclenetwork.com.au/general/programs/179/

Schools Clean Up Day
Just a reminder that Friday 4th March is Schools Clean Up Day. Activities will commence at 11.30-1.30pm & then we will enjoy a BBQ lunch together. Thank you to Bill and Anita who have offered to help out once again with cooking. Thanks also to all the parents who have volunteered to tackle a job on our list in the office. There are still quite a few jobs that we need some willing parents to help with. Please pop in and see what jobs are available. Newsletter Reminder
Thank you to all our contributors. Please be aware that we need to have all items by the Wednesday evening prior and preferably in digital format via email, etc. Permission Forms Reminder
We are still waiting on quite a few permission forms, IT Agreements and Home Learning Forms from the enrolment packs to be returned to the school. Non-return of some of these forms may mean that students will not be able to utilise some facilities. We would also like to remind parents that copies of birth certificates and immunisation certificates are a Department require-ment on enrolment. Certificates and the Student Information Details sheet need to be returned whether they need details to be updated or not, so they can be kept on your students’ files. Sporting Schools and Absences
Parents are reminded that if your child cannot attend a Sporting Schools session (for those who have filled out a permission form) or is absent from school for any reason, you need to ring, text or advise the school office please. Your help with this is really appreciated and important in helping us know where your children are and if they are safe.
PARENTS CLUB NEWS School Sports T-Shirts
As part of Stanhope’s Legendairy success, Dairy Aust-ralia contacted Andrew Hipwell about donating money to be used to purchase a school sports t-shirt. The shirts will cost $35 and Dairy Australia will contribute $20 and the Parents Club will pay the balance, so these shirts will now be free to all students. The t-shirt will be maroon with gold panels down either side and in white stitching will have the school logo and ‘Legendairy Capital 2015’ on it. On Tuesday morning the Parents Club bought some various size shirts to school for the students to try on so that an order could be placed this week. I’m sure the students will look fantastic in these shirts at future sporting events when representing our school. We would like to thank Andrew for all the work he’s done organising these shirts and also Dairy Australia for their generous donation and continued support to the Primary School. We would also like to thank all the families who support our fundraisers because this enables us to support projects such as this.
Lunch Order Day
Our lunch order will be on Friday the 11th of March. Just a reminder to parents that orders are due back no later than Thursday the 3rd of March.
Success:
Cerese, Shylee,
Kahlea & Wil.
