front of the church. Mark your calendar, and bring your favorite pets! Marvin Ward, RIP -- of Springfield, VA on September 8, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of 62 years to Jane M. Ward; caring father of Libby (Randy) McKeen, John (Jenny) Ward, and the late Michael (Lisa) Ward; and dear grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 2. Marvin was the youngest of 7 siblings. He grew up in Reed, KY; one event that he spoke about with great pride was when he and his father helped rebuild their church, St. Augustine, after it had been burned by a fire. They hauled timber from the farm to the church site. He retired from the IRS after a lengthy career as an accountant. He was a devoted Notre Dame football fan, and took particular pride in his garden (tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, and cucumbers), which he cultivated himself. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Michael. May he rest in peace.
