SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
PRAYER
My Jesus, I believe that you are present
in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you
above all things and I desire to receive
you in my soul. Since I cannot at this
moment receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I
embrace you as if you were already
there and unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from
you Amen.
RESPONSE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Archbishop Vigneron has announced the gradual re-
turn to Mass for all Parishes beginning May 19th.
All other events have been suspended at the directive
of the Archdiocese of Detroit and the Governor’s
“Shelter in Place.”
The parish office is closed until further notice. How-
ever, the voicemail and the email are checked on a reg-
ular basis so please feel free to leave a message.
The church is open for personal prayer every Tuesday
and Thursday from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm and every
Sunday from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Please remem-
ber to practice social distancing.
Our parish continues to need your support in order to
pay our bills and maintain the parish buildings. We
ask that, to the best of your ability, you continue to
make your weekly offertory donations, either by mail
or, if you are coming to church for private prayer or
for Mass, you can drop your envelope in the basket
that is provided for this purpose in the church.

gifts!
Christian Service Chairperson and Co-
Chairperson Vacancy
These 2 volunteer positions are waiting for
someone to lead in this most rewarding com-
munity service commission. Currently we have
12-15 friendly and helpful members that come
together and respond to a variety of needs with-
in and beyond our parish boundaries. There are
several programs and activities planned to
serve the needs of the less fortunate in our com-
munity. Our parishioners are invited to partici-
pate in many of our events. This is how we get
to know the people we pray with. As Chair/Co
-Chairpersons, you would set the day and time
for your monthly meetings.
Some of our activities are:
Baking-for fundraising, for funeral luncheons
special luncheons and dinners, etc…
Ethnic Dinners-held several times a year invite
people to help prepare meals and provide infor-
mation about their culture and traditions.
Baby Shower- collect baby items for Compas-
sion Pregnancy & Birthright.

tags for all parishioners to take and return with
their gifts

the homeless in Macomb County twice a year.

Lord?”

interested or would like to know more about
these 2 leadership roles in your parish…….

Do you like to be outdoors? Perhaps
you have a green thumb! Would you
like to help keep our church grounds looking good?
*Then this might be for you! * We adopt a small area, so it doesn’t take much of
our time. However, a little TLC does make a huge
difference in the appearance of our overall land-
scape. Cindy Malburg is the coordinator. Her
phone number is 248-670-1160, if she is not availa-
ble when you call please leave your name and best number to reach you.
* Everyone can help in this way! *
We are also accepting your change and other dona-

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHTS
The theme of sacrifice connects today’s Scripture
passages. In the First Reading from the Second
Book of Kings, the prophet Elisha sacrifices time
to visit the woman of influence and her spouse. As
a result of his kindness, they extend hospitality to
him. In turn, Elisha promises to the woman: This
time next year you will be fondling a baby son. St.
Paul, in his Letter to the Roman community,
acknowledges Christ’s sacrifice for sin and pro-
fesses: He died to sin once and for all. In St. Mat-
thew’s Gospel, Jesus proclaims this para-
dox: Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoev-
er loses his life for my sake will find it. Jesus is
inviting His disciples to sacrifice for the Kingdom
— to open themselves to His will. What can we
sacrifice to the Lord? We are all graced with at
least one talent to offer back to our parishes. Your
sacrifice of prayer, generosity, and service will be
greatly appreciated and blessed.
