The below quotes come from Bishop Fulton Sheen's booklet entitled "The TrueMeaning of Christmas." I have been using this little booklet as part of my Adventreflection and prayer time for the past few weeks. "Nine months passed by. One night there rang out over the stillness of the eveningbreeze, out over the white chalked hills of Bethlehem-a gentle cry. The sea did nothear the voice. The great ones of the earth did not hear the cry, for they could not understand how a Childcould be greater than a man." We can often find ourselves waiting and then be surprised by the rapid and sudden change that happens whenthe waiting is over. Maybe 49er fans are feeling this with the new quarterback seemingly changing the fortunesof a team that couldn't seem to win to save their lives into one that finds a way to win in all circumstances. SIMBANG GABI (Nine-Day Novena of Dawn Masses) The "Simbang Gabi", a devotional nine-day Novena of dawn Massesbefore Christmas Day will begin on Saturday, December 16 untilSunday, December 24. The nine-day daily dawn masses arecelebrated in English and start at 5:30AM. Set within the season ofAdvent, Simbang Gabi invites participants to heighten theirpreparation for the birth of Jesus, as well as honor the BlessedVirgin. Scripture Study: Exploring Luke's Acts of the ApostlesStarting January 8

The St Lucy Scripture Study Group will be exploring Luke's Acts of theApostles in a 10 week program on Monday evenings startingJanuary 8 at 7 pm in the PAC.
