Our Lady’s Blue Memorial Lamp burns this week in memory of Susan Aylward & Anthony Merola, Sr. requested by Phylis Merola.
St. Joseph’s Green Memorial Lamp burns this week in memory of Mr. & Mrs. John Egan requested by the Becher Family.
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Every day I celebrate the Eucharist. Sometimes it is with hundreds of people present, sometimes with just a few people. Very few days pass without my saying, "Lord, have mercy," without daily readings and a few reflections, without a profession of faith, without sharing the Body and Blood of Christ, and without a prayer for a fruitful day.
Still I wonder: do I know what I am doing? Do those who stand or sit around the altar with me know what they are part of? Does something happen that shapes our daily lives - even though it is so familiar? And what about all those who are not there with us? Is the Eucharist still something they know about, think about or desire? All of these questions are very real to me; they constantly beg for an answer. The questions are there again and again: How can all my life be Eucharist and how can the daily celebration of the Eucharist make it that way? I have to come up with my own response. And so do you.
We enter every Mass with a contrite heart and pray the Kyrie Eleison. We listen to the Word - the scriptural readings and the homily. We profess our faith, we give to God the fruits of the earth and the work of human hands and receive from God the Body and Blood of Jesus. And finally we are sent into the world with the task of renewing the face of the earth.
The Eucharistic event reveals the deepest human experiences, those of sadness, attentiveness, invitation, intimacy and engagement. It summarizes the life we are called to live in the Name of God.
Reverend Michael F. Dogali

If you would like to attend, please ask your parents to RSVP to Deacon Brad Smythe at [email protected] or leave a message at the rectory 203-924-8611. Thanks and God Bless, Dn. Brad
SPONSOR CERTIFICATE GUIDELINES
Our parish receives a number of requests for Sponsor Certificates from people who have been asked to be a Godparent at a Baptism or a Sponsor at a Confirmation. This certificate verifies that you are an active Catholic, a member of this parish and eligible for this honor. Being a Godparent or a Sponsor is not just a family or social relationship, as important as these may be. It is a profound spiritual responsibility which entails witness and commitment and there are several requirements:
a) The Godparent/Sponsor is to be at least sixteen years old.
b) He/she is to have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation.
c) If married, the Sponsor/Godparent must have been married according to the laws of the Church.
For the Pastor to issue a Sponsor Certificate: a) You are a currently registered member of the parish.
b) You worship here regularly.
c) You are requesting the Sponsor Certificate yourself; please do not ask a parent, spouse or another person to do this for you.
d) No Sponsor Certificates will be signed or issued before or after weekend Masses
Please call the Rectory (203-924-8611) in order to make an appointment with Deacon Brad.
