Dear Parishioners and Friends, Peace and Blessings! Happy 4th of July! May we take some me this Inde-pendence Day to thank God for the many blessings bestowed upon our great country. May it be a safe and fun weekend. Happy Birthday USA! Monday will be the o cial celebra on of Independ-ence Day. There will be one Mass at 10:00, bilingual. The o ce will be closed. The process con nues looking for a new music direc-tor. Let us con nue to pray that God will send us the right one for our trilingual parish. This Sunday’s Gospel tells us that Jesus is hampered from performing miracles in Nazareth because of the people’s lack of faith. Jesus is said to be surprised by this. All ministries may return to full service – altar servers, lectors, ushers, greeters and extraordinary ministers of Holy Com-munion. Masks are no longer required for all vaccinated ministers, including those distribu ng Communion (Priests, Dea-cons, and EMs). However, masks may be worn for those who prefer to wear one during the liturgy.
∗ COMMUNION Communion on the tongue is now permi ed. At this me, Communion from the cup should not be distributed to the assembly.
∗ SIGN OF PEACE The invita on to share the Sign of Peace should con nue. Parishioners could be reminded that it is not required to touch during the sign of peace.
∗ ALTAR SERVERS Vaccinated altar servers, age 12 and over, may resume their role with permission of their parents or guardians. If they are under the age of 12 and are not yet eligible for vaccina on, they should wear masks.
∗ BAPTISMAL FONTS Bap smal fonts and holy water receptacles may be lled.
∗ SANITIZING The cleaning and sani zing of churches and common spaces should be done regularly. It is not required a er every liturgy.

We are not passive receptors of the liturgy – or at least we should not be. We are called to be active par-ticipants! I am eternally grateful for the various Friars I have minister with and their faith in the power of music uni ng our English, Spanish, and Italian communi es.
To those running the Faith Forma on Program and with whom I’ve collaborated in the music ministry - thank you for providing your me and talent. You have greatly helped me realize my visions during my me at St. Francis and have made so many events special.
While we may have experienced loss and grief dur-ing the pandemic, for which I share my deepest condolenc-es, I hope that this period has also brought lessons of un-derstanding and re ec on.
