CHAPTER ACTIVITIES

1. Conference organization

This year our chapter is a co-organizer of four scientific meetings and members of our chapter are members of the Organizing Committees for those meetings:

1. 5th International Conference on Advanced Optoelectronics and Lasers (CAOL), http://caol.kture.kharkov.ua

2. 10th International Conference on Laser and Fiber-Optical Networks Modeling (LFNM), http://lfnm.kture.kharkov.ua

3. 2nd International Workshop on THz Radiation: Basic Research and Applications (TERA), http://tera.kture.kharkov.ua

4. Special Section on Nonlinear Photonics (NLP), http://caol.kture.kharkov.ua Presented: Over 28 countries, 198 presentations, including 127 orals and 71 posters, 41 invited presentations, including 16 plenary invited presentations. Topics of the meetings cover frontiers of laser physics, photonics, nanotechnology and new materials,

nonlinear optics and optical telecommunications, including theoretical, experimental and technological

aspects, as well as novel applications of optoelectronics and laser technology in various fields (nanotechnology, plasmonics, spectroscopy, biomedicine, technologies of high-power lasers, terahertz applications)

One should mention that following the opinion of the participants this event is one of three largest

conferences on optics and laser physics, which are hold on the territory of the Commonwealth of Independent States

At the end of this report several photos from the conference are collected.

2. Visiting Lecturer

We have used an opportunity to invite the visiting lecturer form outstanding researches. This year it was Prof. Mauro F. Pereira with the lecture “TERA-MIR Radiation: Sources, Detection, Applications and Simulations”. A couple of photos from this seminar are below.

3. FUNDING AND BALANCE

The chapter is formed this year and did not have any income yet
