Transilluminator

UV Transilluminator & White Light Table

In genetic research field (especially nucleic acid and protein research application), agarose or polyacryla-mide gels are usually used to separate DNA or RNA fragments. To locate these fragments, DNA or RNA bands have to be stained with ethidium bromide or acridine orange, and then excited by ultraviolet light. We place gel on the surface of working table, transilluminating it by UV or white light, then we obtain a visible fluorescence of the band.

Single or all Lanes Correction function: Lane Direction, gap and slope are adjust-able. Using up or down arrow to change the value of parameters, or directly enter a specific value. The range of slope: -100~100°

Vertical and horizontal lane adjustment

Vertical and horizontal lane slope adjustment

Visually viewing all selected bands, easy for verifica-tion, comparison, calculation of molecular weight (MW), Rate of Flow (RF), Optical Density (OD), etc.

You can add or delete a detection marker following the instruction of shown graph, which creates more pre-cise result by preventing any missed or wrongly added markers. Also we can add a new marker on the graph just by moving cursor onto a position between two peaks, then click when cursor becomes a double headed ar-row.

Parameters adjustment: slope, sensitivity. Migration correction: suitable for three or more markers.

Molecular Weight (MW) Calculation

Using molecular weight of standard lane to calculate that of other lanes. Gel images and result are displayable.

Marker Editor enables you to enter a specific value, then press Enter to confirm. All values are displayed in a descending order.

Rate of Flow (RF) Calculation

RF means the ratio of flow distance between sam-ple and buffer.

Phylogenetic Tree Analysis

Genetic Relationship is shown as a ma-trix.

Phylogenetic Tree

Define different colors for values in matrix to get a vivid visual effect.

Matching function is similar to pholygenetic tree function, but it can get phylogenetic tree graph using selected band as contrast.

Optical Density (OD) Calculation

Volumes

Units may be changed to ng, mg, %, etc. You can calculate relative content and absolute con-tent at different position of each band.

Get more precise result by activat-ing crest-magnify button.

Calculate volume of all lanes according to the volume of detected lane.

Microtiter Plate Analysis

Compatible with any microtitier plates, easy for analysis.

Display the outline and results of different bands in the same window to facilitate comparison.

Qualitative and quantitative analysis of colony. All necessary information is listed.

Colony counting is based on flexible detec-tion parameters. Parameter modification is to add or filter colonies depending on their specific characteristics.

Image preview helps you easily re-trieve your images. All images in the same directory are displayed in small viewable format.

The report including different selected data and chart is reorganized in a layout defined by operator.

All selected data could be displayed in the same file. What you need to do is just to select your desired data and drag it into the report layout.

Background adjustment: Grey level is adjustable. This function is to outstand and enhance the image feature.

Background Inversion is suitable for print-ing electrophoresis images. You may reverse image so as to outstand image feature and also save your printer consumables.

Output Format

User-friendly spreadsheet includes useful features such as ratios, data import & ex-port function.

Images could be output as format of tif, bmp, png, jpg. Output formats: clipboard, Excel, PDF, data-base, etc. 3D image observation and output is available.

Results Summary

Result list displays all calculated results. “comment“ under the “edit” menu displays all calcu-lated results, easy for editing and report output.

Bio-2D is an unique software especially used for 2D gel analysis application. Fast and accurate analysis is done just through a few clicks.

Calculation Function

1. Background subtraction by overlap. 2. Outline recognition by local comparison. 3. Manually define spots. 4. Detecting volume, gravity center, maximum intensity,

height, circularity of every spot. 5. Calculating MW, isoelectric point of each spot as per

user’s definition 6. Correcting distortion image by trigonometry. 7. Correcting intensity between images by one or more refer-

ence points. 8. Screen display of matching and non-matching spots. 9. Spots movement observation.

Database Function

1. Variable database, 10 levels including 999 sublevels. 2. Data storage of all detected points of image.

Spot Characteristic Definition

Date is saved in a database with mass storage capacity. Intuitive tools makes database management very simple.

MW marker is included in the sample type, as well as PL scale. Specific MW and PL value are assigned to spots according to the proportion de-fined on the image.
