Day 1 Full, hot breakfast at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Fort Payne
Take a scenic drive up Lookout Mountain to Miracle Pottery for some shopping
and a demonstration of the artist “throwing pots.” Continue along the brow of the mountain to DeSoto Falls at DeSoto State Park.
Stop for lunch at the Mountain Inn Restaurant at DeSoto Lodge ($7-20/person)
Return to Fort Payne to visit Big Mill Co. to shop for local artwork and antiques.
Stay in the historic downtown area for dinner at a local gathering place in Fort
Payne, The Strand. If you’re lucky, you might see country music artist, Randy Owen from the country music group, Alabama. ($7-20/person)
Day 2 Full, hot breakfast at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Fort Payne
Walk and Shop historic downtown Fort Payne
Goosie’s – eclectic antiques and handmade gifts

“S” House Antiques – unique antiques, furniture, home décor and vintage

Walk to Café 100 for some Southern cooking. ($7-15/person)
Take a drive up Lookout Mountain to visit the Little River Canyon Center and watch
their 15 minute documentary on the National Preserve. Take the short hike or drive
to Little River Falls. Continue along the Little River Canyon National Preserve scenic
drive and stop at the overlooks. In the wet season, stop at the Grace Falls overlook to see a waterfall comparable to what you might see in a jungle.
At the end of this scenic drive, stop by Orbix Hot Glass to shop for locally made,
refined glassware. If the artists are blowing glass, visitors are welcome to watch. Blow your own glass ornament classes are also available upon appointment.
Return to Fort Payne for Dinner at Ol’ Tymers BBQ. ($7-20/person)
Drive to Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Gadsden for the night.

Drive to historic downtown Gadsden
The Taming of the Ewe– yarn shop offering advice or lessons on knitting, crocheting, tatting and spinning
Enjoy local baked goods and chocolates with lunch at The Coffee Well. ($7-12/person)
Visit Material Girl’s for fabric, sewing patterns, quilting and embroidery supplies and lessons upon appointment.
Walk to the Alabama Gift Company to shop for baskets, food, books, pottery and more, all made in Alabama.
Drive to Hobby Lobby to shop for your own craft supplies.
Return to historic downtown for dinner at Blackstone Pub & Eatery for pizza or quesadillas. ($10-20/person)
