Tomorrow I will be attending a Grafton Principal Network Afternoon Tea to recognise students in our schools who had 100% attendance in 2019. Our Director Educational Leadership, Mrs Meghanne Wellard will be presenting these students with a special certificate recognising their achievement. Congratulations to the following students from our school who have been invited to attend this presentation: Lily Vidler, Emma Cameron, Mitchell Kelly, Riley Lolic, Matthew Reckless, Emmie Lolic, Harper Frost, Olivia Reckless, Josie Vickers.

Yesterday we had Jenny from the Heart Foundation visit our school to promote this years Jump Rope For Heart fundraiser. Our school participates in this fundraiser every 2nd year and our school skipping team often represent ‘Jump Rope for Heart’ at a range of schools across the North Coast. Students will receive a brochure explaining how to fundraise and what is invovled in participating in this program. Students who fundraise will receive prizes which is outlined in the brochure and our school also receives a rebate which we utilise to purchase healthy resources for our students. All fundraising is now online, the starting date will be Monday 10th February and conclude on Friday 6th March where we will hold a ‘Jump off’ for all students who have participated in the fundraiser. This is a voluntary fundraiser and it is your choice if you participate or not.

Our Primary swimming carnival (including students who have turned 8 or are turning 8 years old this year and who are competent swimmers from the Infants campus) will be held on Monday 10th February at the Grafton pool. A permission note has been sent home. All students will be catered for as there are a number of novelty races and activities for students who do not wish to participate in the allocated races. All students are expected to attend this carnival. All primary staff will be at the carnival so no supervision will be available at school. Our thanks to Mr Newman for organising this carnival and our staff for their support. We are looking forward to a terrific day and good luck to all of our students. If the weather is unfavourable we will notify our community on our Facebook Page.

Parents please be very vigilant when dropping and picking up your children to school. This is an extremely busy time and we still have instances where parents call their children across these busy roads, this maybe very dangerous. Please escort your child across the road to ensure the safety of all our students.

The Life Education Van is visiting the Infants campus from Monday 17th February to Monday 24th February. A permission note has gone home and needs to be returned with $10 to your childs class teacher by Friday 14th February.

Just a reminder to all our families that it is not appropriateto share photos of any children other than your own, taken at school, on Facebook or any form of social media. We have permission from parents/carers to share the photos we upload onto our school Facebook page.

Have a great weekPeter HickeyPrincipal

Celebrate the wackiness in every family with our best-selling Broadway musical adapted for

school-age performers! Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and

fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family whom her parents have

never met. She confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams

must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia.

Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for

Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY Young@Part® is the authorized 60-minute edition of the Broadway

musical for schools and youth theatres. Through a series of workshops with industry

professionals and actual kids, the Young@Part® musicals are tailor-made for younger actors.

Song keys are changed where needed, songs and scenes are edited for time and content, while

keeping the spirit of the original Broadway show intact. There are great parts for girls, boys and

can feature any size ensemble/chorus, who are featured throughout the show.
