So – You want to learn how to put an article onto the state website.(Note: If you have not done so, please review the web

training provided by the webmaster. This slideshow is supplemental to the web training.

Let’s begin on the next page.

TEK2013

All members have the availability to view the state calendar.

TEK2013

Only the State Officers can edit the calendar or place new items or delete existing items. Below is an example of a new item.

TEK2013

TEK2013

Use the EDIT tab to make changes to add an entry or change it.

TEK2013

Edit will open up the selected screen from the calendar. Again, only the State Officers can enter or make changes.

TEK2013

This page shows the START and TO times for the event. Also, note that the SAVE button is at the bottom of the page. Always use the

SAVE button when you make entries or changes or deletions.

TEK2013

To review any changes you have made, click on the CALENDAR tab on the Home Page.

TEK2013

Here you can see the actual calendar page. Again, only the State Officers can edit, delete or add content to the calendar.

TEK2013

Click on the ADD CONTENT tab and then select the EVENT Tab under the Add Content.

TEK2013

Create an event by giving it a TITLE and then typing into the large box what the event is about.

TEK2013

Next, scroll down to the EVENT DATE and put in the date and time in the following format – MM/DD/YYYY and add a dash “-”

mark followed by the time in 24 hour clock (military time) i.e. 4:00 p.m. is 1600.

TEK2013

Then you need to select an end time using the same date and time format on the previous screen.

TEK2013

Once again, don’t forget to click on the SAVE button.

TEK2013

Once you save your work, you will see it added to the Home Page. Now click on the CALENDAR tab to see the whole month

displayed. You will now see the newest change or addition.

TEK2013

If you need to edit the entry for any reason, open the event up again and go to the EDIT tab.

TEK2013

While you are in the edit mode, you can make changes, delete the item or change the publishing options (remember that it can be

placed on the Front Page – check or uncheck the block as needed.

TEK2013

While you are in the Publishing Options, check the box if you want to promote the article to the front page. (Leave unchecked if you

do not want it on the front page).

TEK2013

Once again, make sure you click on the SAVE button to save any changes or additions you may have made.

TEK2013

Once the event is finished, it should disappear from the calendar automatically. If not, then you will open the calendar tab and click

on the event in the date block that you need to change.

TEK2013

Now click on EDIT once again.

TEK2013

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the Publishing Options. Click on the Publishing Options.

TEK2013

Uncheck the Promote To Front Page.

TEK2013

Now, once again - SAVE your work. This action will take the event off the Front Page (Home Page) and still leave it on your own

Officer’s Page.

Congratulations

The End
